What kinda stuff do you guys do to test out equitment in the store you may buy it from? Anyone have any kinky experiments they run to see if it's right? Mainly gloves and sticks.

I try out heads, gloves, helmets, etc. I usually use the stick/shaft and shoot on the goal.
My friends and I used to have a helmet test but stopped doing it because it was kinda dangerous. One of use would put the hemet on and someone would hit the helmet very hard with a stick. Then whoever had the helmet on would get spun around in circles until they were dizzy then run head first into the goal post. But we stopped doing it.

Can't imagine why you stopped..

well, what if the stores we go to don't have anything to shoot or pass on? i know everyone is always like go to the store and see if you like it. but how??? i mean i always string my own sticks and how am i gonna tell if the head is good with a crappy factory strung stick or an unstrung stick. so, i too have the same question, what does everyone else do to test out equipment???

Also to add my lax store strings mostly all the heads so they aren't factory strung.

If your looking for a D-head, I would put my hands on the sidewall and squeeze until I either a.) I gave up (only has hapened with a Revo Pro a few years back, I think), or b.) the plastic sidewalls touch each other. The harder it is to squeeze the sidewalls together, the better D-head it is.

where i work, we have a wall set up, but we also let the kids go into the parking lot, and ill throw with them. Ask your sales associate if you could do that.

I place my piece of equipment on the ground and perform a voodoo dance around it. If it bursts into flames, I don't buy it. I have yet to not buy a piece of equipment.
Seriously, I just mess around with it. Try stuff on, hold it up, that kind of stuff.

with shoulder arm pads and gloves i just put em on and have someone just beat the snot outta them and see how it works and then i just pick up a complete stick and see how i can move with them on, you know just go through the shot and cradling motions or anything else you do in games and see how it feels. I dont base my protective equipment on looks or whats cool, just how it feels and if i still have my full range of motion

Yea, maybe. My friend can get a Razer to ignite. All I can get to light on fire are Liquids and Prophecys.

as for sticks i cant really test them out.... theyre all factory strung around here. and you obviously cant test a shafts durability in the store so that out of the question. and when you try on gloves they wont be broken in so you shouldnt be able to make a decision on gloves with a pair that isnt even broken in.... i chose to ask someone on my team to use that head or gloves or somthing for like 5 minutes to get the feel of it and see if i like it. thats how you should judge stuff in my opinion.

For gloves and pads, i usually put them on and have someone beat me with a shaft.
The store near me, Bones, has a wall set up inside that you can use.

I like to pick up a stick and shoot on the goal, and/or play catch with my brother. For gloves and other pads I test the range of motion it has.
At a store, I just hold the shafts and swing them around, squeeze the heads, and try on the gloves. Then I pick up a complete stick with the gloves to see how it feels.

i mean you can try on a bunch of stuff... most local stores dont really care but its always good to research first and figure out what you might be interested in buying.

That's true...Coming prepared is always best. Except for important tests at school...Don't ever be prepared for those.
