hi everyone. i'm a freshman in high school and i really want to play lacrosse for next year.

i played it when i was 8 years old, but i was bad so i just gave up. but that is one of my main regrets. i asked my friend (who is amazing, she's been playing since she was 4 years old) to teach me how to play this summer.

my brother also plays, so do you think if i give it enough dedication, i'll be able to play for spring of next year for my school?

thanks...and remember, i'm completely new to this sport.

Lacrosse is an Easy Sport to learn, yet a hard sport to Master. With all that direction, you should be fine.

you will definitely be able to do it if you dedicate yourself. I didn't really start playing lacrosse until my freshman year and i was the leading scorer for my sophmore year. you just have to work your butt off. constantly practice and constantly try and learn everything you can about the sport.

the ammount of years you have been playing a sport does not necessarily reflect how good you are at it. I'm the best player on my team and I have probably been playing for the shortest amount of time. Way better than people that have been playing from when they were in 3rd grade. It just matters what you do and how you do it not for how long you have been doing it.

as long as your a bit athletic, no worries. You really need to dedicate at least an hour a day to practice though, if you wanna be ready for next year. lots of wall ball! its good that you have friends/ family members to teach you to play, however its pretty much essential for you to go to at least one lax camp this summer. after all, theres nothing better than profesional instruction. good luck  if you have any questions, you can pm me.

as long as u work at it, u will be fine...the best advice anyone can give you is wall ball...make it ur life and practice everything...also if u decide a position, a goal might be helpful to shoot on...by yeah if you push yourself and practice everyday over summer you'll def. be able to bust out a few moves come spring.

My question is why don't you play this year? If you're on the eastern seaboard, with the exception of a few southern states, the seasons don't start for a while. I'm sure you could hop the team right now and get some experience under your belt.

And as others have said, it doesn't matter when you start. As long as you put forth the required effort to do well, you will.

Why not play for this year? The only way to get better is through expierence.

It definately is not to late to play. I first picked up a lax stick when i was a jr in high school and now i play on a college team and am one of the best players in the conference. Lax is def an easy game to learn but takes years to master but with hard work and lots of practice you could become a great player. It is def possible

Like everyone has said, as long as your dedicated and practice hard, you should be ok. Just don't give up and always give it your all.

If you are dedicated enough, you can pretty much do anything in the world you want. Just work hard, listen to the people that know more than you, practice whenever possible, and you can be one of the best out there on the field next year.
