It's over now. They were playing Norway. The end score was 5-0 U.S. with Taylor Twellmen (sp.) who had a hat trick. But anyways..what's the ball?

I didn't watch the game, but if it is yellow fading to white it is the new nike vapor ball. EDIT: http://soccer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Section_Id=50&pcount=&Product_Id=213177

screw an engine. the thing had better score 100 goals by itself. and have a cup holder haha. but what makes it 130 bucks?

Lol no, its a nice ball. top quality materials, true flight, wont become an egg, wont deflate. how can a piece of molded plastic be almost 130 bucks

pinch,strength,lightness, ease of stringing.

but do you really notice all that stuff on a soccer ball? like do soccer balls really get out of shape and rip and deflate that easily? if im being ignorant forgive me, i only played rec soccer. i liked it and scored a lot but had no time for it

It's the ball the pros use. Similar to buying a NFL football for like $80.

Yes, the weight, materials, stringing, panel pattern, etc. all effect how the ball feels on your foot and how it flies. When you're playing at that level you do notice all these things. You should see how anal people get about their cleats...

yea, sorta
i got my soccer ball for like 20 bux, and its been roughed up alot
the surface actually started to waera way in some spots, but not alot
i guess the quality is near perfection on that baby, but thats what you want when you play at that level

you should see the world cup bakll from adidas, also 130, bt it is nice, a totally different shape. Its called the Teamgeist, it has premolded panels, a softer outer, a differant inner, it flies truer.

That adidas ball is amazing. Every strike is true, and you can put better spins and bends on the ball. It is the most consistent ball on the market. believe it or not, there is a TON of technology put into these new soccer balls. It's not just a bunch of patched octagons anymore.

I've never liked the look of balls with weird shaped panels though...

130ish, same price as the new nike vapor ball(im guessing this is the normal price for top of the line balls)

the work that goes into making each of those so perfect that one slight variation of the angle of your boot/foot causes a goal to win the biggest game of the world's biggest and most popular sport.

definitely worth $130.
