Uh, we actually got really really lucky... we got it for $6,999... when they ment to advertise it at $9,999.... and they had to sell it at that price... other wise it would have been false advertising and we would have sued and easily won a bit more then the car is worth... so you know... right place and the right time kinda deal.

I have an 1994 Toyota Corolla. I inherited it from my dad. It runs good and looks good for its age, but its not quite up to racing standards. It goes fast if you get it moving, but the acceleration is a bit slow. I'm just glad I have a car to drive though.

First car was a 79 Mercedes Turbo Diesel owned originally by my dad. Odometer broke somwhere after the 250,000 mark so I have no idea how much was on it when we finally sold it. Also the FM radio barely worked, and the the tape player was broken. It did have power windows and a manual sunroof. The starter plug took awhile to warmup in the winter, so did the heater. The drive to school in the winter was always a little chilly. But it was still an awesome car.

i drove my dads 97 f-150 for about 6 months because he had a company vehicle and then we bought a 1989 Chrysler New Yorker, for $1,500 and it only had 45,000 miles on it when i got it and it now has 48,000. It was a steal for the condition, i'll post some pictures later, it has all leather interior and power everything, it is a grandma car....but i love it

lol, eh umm yeah I wouldnt want that happening to me. I am afraid of going above like 70-75 with it though. It starts to make weird noises and like shakes or something.
This might just be the fan belt (not sure not knowledgeable with cars) and it just makes this somewhat loud rattling noise when Im not moving. Other than that I have a awsome car... Great for four wheeling.

Really. I know the car exactly.
The first car I drove extensively was a two-door '63 Falcon. I did not have title to it, so I can't claim to have bought it. It was my parents' car. Column-mounted three speed manual transmission, not synchronized back into first. Drum brakes all around. No radio. It had the 144 ci six-cylinder engine, as opposed to the 200 ci inline six-cylinder. Definitely not the 260 V-8.
It looked like this, but sky blue. (http://home.centurytel.net/fordfan/Falcon.htm)
When it was built, $3 would fill the tank.
I sold it for $76.

I am lucky because I get to choose from 3 cars just about. Either a fairly new buick(no idea what model it is), a 94 volvo 940, or an 89 volvo 240 station wagon with a fire engine red finish...so bad arse. The reason I have to many cars is because both my older bros live in the city so they don't need their cars and we inherited two cars from my cousin(the buick, and a 98 durango which is pretty bad arse too.)

A '98 Nissan Altima. Bought it for 2K. Actually I put $200 down and the rents paid the rest at first and now I'm paying them back.Might sound cheap but there was a death in the sellers family so they had to get rid of it. I bought it from some people that live on the road next to me, so one day as I was driving home from work I spotted it.

First car (1987) was a 1980 Honda Accord LX hatchback with a balky carburetor and poor brakes. My dad bought it off a co-worker for $1800. We eventually paid someone $150 to tow it away in 1990.

that's right fellas that right there is a 1981 honda accord  ......thats not my exact one, mine has a bit of chipped paint on hood & roof, but other then that its sweet.....stick shift, gets high 20's-30 miels to the gallon....wanna know how much im paying for it???nothing! :agree: my friend is going in to the air force & he has another car he just needs a part for the motor that's been difficult to find so he bought this 81 Accord for 500$ w/ like 50,000 miles on it.....we're really good friends so i was gunna buy it off him when he left for a few 100(probably me paying like 1/2 parents paying 1/2(i just turned 16) but he said that he was just going to give it to me :agree:
most people would be like that things a piece, blah blah blah blah blah blah, but im just gunna be happy to have a car....my friend's parents just bought him a used cherokee(2000 i think) for 5000$, he payed 1,000 of it....it's cool that he payed but it's really nice & im just hoping he takes care of it because starting off w/ a nice car is sometimes under appreciated by many high schoolers

You have nothing to look forward to anymore.
This isn't a personal statement towards you, but I hate girls that get really luxurious or sporty cars for their first car. Why?
-They don't understand cars as well as guys do. Guys have a near sexual infatuation with cars. The sound, the speed, the leather, etc. For girls it's just "look at my Mercedes-Benz, I'm better than you."
-They probably whined and manipulated to get it
-They are spoiled
-No car will be better than your first car, once you move out and have to buy your own, it will be a crappy car like everybody else's first car
I would kill for a Mercedes-Benz, or a BMW. . . yeah it'd be cool to say I drive one, but they are such nice cars. Actually I'm more into the Dodge Charger with a hemi at the moment. For guys it is less of a status symbol, it is for girls. "My friend Jamie has a BMW, so I need one to be cool too."
I drive a '99 Saturn SL2, blue. Let me give you a rundown of my friends' cars, keep in mind I go to a preppy Catholic school:
-3 of my friends drive BMW 3 series'
-1 friend drives an Altima with 20's
-1 friend drives an Acura TSX
-2 of my friends drive BMW 5 series'
-2 friends drive Audi A4's
-1 friend drives a Lexus
-2 friends drive Infinity G35's
-2 friends drive black Mercedes C230 Kompressor's
-1 friend drives a Silver Dodge Ram with a hemi
-1 friend drives a VW Jetta
-1 friend drives a BMW X5
-1 friend had a BMW 3 series' totalled it, got an H2truck, while it was in the shop getting lifted, DVD screens, tints, huge tires, and chrome rims, he was driving a white Porsche Cayanne (sp?) Turbo.
So yeah, you can say I'm pretty stubborn and reasonable with my opinion.

Well, I’m sorry you feel that way. Maybe you should realize that many girls that drive nice cars have just as much respect for the sheer power and sound of the engine as guys do. I for one have spent a long time researching my car, comparing fuel economy, engine and horsepower, resale value and almost anything else you could think of. In no way did I manipulate or beg my parents for this car, nor am I an arrogant person looking to gain attention just for driving a BMW. This goes for almost all of my other girl AND guy friends that own Range Rovers, BMWs, Mercedes. In the end I was leaning towards Ford’s King Ranch F-150 because I ride horses as well, but my parents felt that the BMW would be safer and better suited for the local roads. Maybe you should rethink your “hatred” feeling towards girls with nice cars, because it seems like a rather ignorant statement. Of course there are girls, and guys as well, that will manipulate and whine until they are presented with what they want, but it’s not reasonable to assume all girls follow this pattern. As for the “no car will be better”, I do not believe that. Getting this as my first car will set a standard for the future. I will strive to maintain the same standards (vehicle wise as well as house etc.) that my parents have set for me. It’s an incentive to be hard-working in life so that one day I can provide my children with new cars.
I assume you attend Bishop Moore? That’s nice. The public school parking lot of Winter Park looks similar to that of your friends’ cars. I’m not sure what you’re trying to prove by listing the cars that your friends own.

i cant stand people w/ nice cars for their 1st car, usually you get a car when your 16 and have not fully mastered driving and have a greater chance of wreaking it, which would cost money to replace the broken parts and usually all the luxury cars are imported(which costs alot to get the parts), so dont use a car as a status symbol

What does it matter to you? You aren't paying for the repairs.

what a stupid reply and its my opinion, which im entitled too, and chances are i would have to pay for some, if not save up to pay for the repairs...so im guessing your first car was a ferrari and you just mooch off your parents for everything

Stupid reply? It was just my opinion too. For the most part, parents choose to buy their kids nice cars knowing that the parts would have to be imported if any accident were to occur. My first car is not a ferrari, although it would be nice. I don't "mooch" off my parents, I work as much as school allows me too.
