My team has recently come into a nice bit of money and on top of buying new helmets we want to purchase new goals w/nets as well. I have been looking online and have seen some good prices but I am not sure if there is a place that specializes in this sort of thing or should we just order them from like great atlantic? any help is great.

I would just get one at a local lax shop if they have good service/prices. Going through the hassle of getting that shipped would be a big pain in the neck. If you are going to get good goals, and it sounds like you are, they are H E A V Y. Not something you want to be paying shipping for.

If you have some time on your hands you could make your own goal. All you would need is either some PVC or steel pipe and some basic tools. You could buy the net and attach the pipes using either glue or welding tools (if you were to use metal piping). I bet it would be fun and not terribly difficult plus you'd save a ton of money. It'd definately be worth the money/time/effort.

Trust me, PVC would not cut it. I tried doing that with a floor hockey goal for 10-12 year olds and it was awful. Plus PVC would never stand up to a lacrosse ball. And you could go the welding way, but I would just buy the goals since you have the money, and it would look a lot more professional, since I am assuming that you will be using these for your school including games between schools.

We used PVC nets for box and we played posts. Thick PVC is great;steel is better but heavier

I just bought one on ebay for around $95 including shipping net taxezs, etc.

You may be able to get one around $10-15 cheaper if you hawk ebay for a while.

You can get a backup 10 x 30 foot backup net with rope ties for around $77 delivered. Email these guys for backup netting info Windscreen1@aol.com

Good Luck
