Hey guys. I just got my new issue of Inside Lacrosse yesterday when my friend and goalie of our team told me to look at the letter of the month on the editors page. I did just that and the featured letter was a letter that he had written. I just wondered what you guys thought of the following idea (the subject of the letter):
"Over the summer my friend and I thought of the idea to have an MLL vs. NLL sort of playoff. It would be a best of, say, seven, and it would rotate from city to city, indoor and outdoor."
Thanks!

This should be in our killer new Magazine Forum. Anyways, think the idea would be cool, but hard to pull off. Sure, it would be awesome to see who of the top two leagues in the world is best, but think of it from a practical standpoint. Which rules would you use? Which field? One league will have to adjust their playing style. It's like having a contest between skateboarders and snowboarders. Apples and Oranges.

Maybe you can not only switch cities but also switch rules like NLL one day and MLL the other challenging but hey they are pros.DEAL WITH IT

It'd be like the Ireland vs. Scotland, combined rules hurling-shinty game.

how would they decide which version of the sport to play in the seventh game?
like if NLL wins all 3 box games and MLL wins the 3 field games, how to they play the final?
field game with box nets and goalies?

Have to say this is a retarded idea that would never fly. Think this should have actually gone in a Fantasy section. When would this game be played? There is a ton of cross over, what happens when the same player is playing for both teams? Does he play one shift for his NLL team and one for the MLL? Just goes to show what IL thinks of the pro game to print a letter like that. If it's not college and has any mention of NLL, it's considered a circus by US media.

I like the idea but the only thing i dont like about it is the playing indoor AND outdoor. that would sort of mess things up.they would have to somehow decide on which one..

maybe it would be like the mlb, where they switch off rules each game, and have a 6 game series. (like a DH in baseball) and no, I am not a baseball sympathizer. Could be cool, but we all know mll would own!
