how dare you! SHUN
the proton power is far from a gimmik..the stop helps to make the sidewalls stronger, and cut down on weight

What do you mean? How its elevated on like a little platform like it is. Its like that becuase the sidewalls are attached lower on the head than a normal one. Its supposed to add stiffness and stregnth, not really a gimmick in my opinion.

....It is a ballstop. It is a piece of plastic on the bottom of the head where you attach a piece of foam to. The only difference between it and any other ballstop is that STX removed all of the unnecessary plastic around it.
Wow. You guys really stop need to be using the "gimmick" word. You've all been brainwashed to think that if a head is a "gimmick" if it doesn't have an average pinch, weight, stiffness, or any characteristics on it that aren't exactly the same as any other head. Everybody please, look up gimmick in the dictionary.

...it's really not a big deal. Ball stops really don't have much of an impact on anything. I heard no complaints AT ALL about the proton power. From what I understand, it's a great head and I would love to have one.

i have played with the proton power for 3 weeks from what ive felt its a great head and the ballstop makes no difference to any of it its just a little piece of plastic and it doesnt make it any better or worse and it is a very solid head (all around very good).

im not judging the head at all because i have never heard of it or seen it except pictures or heard anybody talk about it but i think the originator of this thread meant like maybe it isnt as great as another head priced the same and they just try to add the ball stop thing so they can add 10 or 15 bucks onto the price
i have no idea what a ball stop does if u are so bad at catching that it hits the ball stop.. uhh .. u suck

I have had the head since about mid-December and I absolutely love it! I was playing with a regular proton (slightly pinched) and this seems to be a huge step above the original. I don't know what it is, and I'm not going to make any dumb-a$$ remark about it being the release angle or the different shape of the head, its just better. But thats just my personal pref.

He means the foam that the ball stop is made out of. I still don't see how it can be a gimmik. It was never advertised saying you should get it because of the ballstop. I really don't even see the point of it. As long as there is one on the stick, it's legal. Other then that, it really doesn't make a difference since the ball should never hit the ball stop in a game anyway.

Just wondering how the stiffness on these are. I tried one out at dick's last week, but couldn't really do anything with it cause the sales people were watchin. I mean like for a pole
