I'm new to lacrosse but I'm learning the game well. I'm enjoying it a lot so far! Anyways, I need a stick because the teams sticks aren't good and everyone suggested me to get my own. I want a good stick because I don't want to be stuck with a bad one once I get better. I have no clue what's good or bad besides that the expensive ones must be the better ones.
DeBeer sticks seem to be the most popular on my team and I was wondering if those are the best. I don't know if it matters but I will most likely be playing one of the attack positions. Model names & suggested online stores would help:)
Thanks!
PS: I need goggles too so if anyone knows any good ones, I would love to know!

As far as sticks go, its all preference. Debeer does make high quality sticks though, but some people (Exhibit A: Me) prefer to use other brands. If you are interested in Debeer I'd definately look at the Impulse, Tempest, Apex, or maybe even their newest, the Envy. If you search around on here you can find more information on each.
Goggles are also another thing of preference, I personally LOVE the STX 4Sights, but I know some people that prefer playing with the Cascade Iris' still. My best advice is to try and go to a local lacrosse store and check them all out for yourself. That's going to be your best bet in finding what YOU want.

Goggles: STX 4Sights.
Stick: www.sportsherway.com has the DeBeer Tempest for $35. It's a great stick that used to be $90. All of my new players bought one this year.
I highly suggest you try out some of your teammates sticks and see which ones you like. If you're not down with that, just hit up the Tempest, you won't be disappointed.

Do you have any clue about how fast they ship? They seem to have much cheaper prices for STX sticks but the DeBeer sticks only seem to be a little cheaper than other places.
I believe my friend has a tempest and the shaft seems very long. I'm not very tall and I had a problem handling longer sticks. I'm not sure what models I used other than hers (since I was just handed a stick and taught to play) but I found sticks with shorter shafts much easier to use. Does longer length give a significant advantage?
I also don't understand the kinds of pockets some models have. Traditional, Trakker, Trakker Pro, Trigger...I'm very lost:( Thanks for the help!

They ship relatively quickly, you should have it within a week if you use standard shipping. All shafts come basically the same length. If you used a stick that was shorter than most it's because the owner of the stick cut the shaft down. Personally I don't recomend cutting your shaft unless you're really young or really short...or both. It makes it more difficult to play defense as well as affects how hard and fast you can throw the ball.
As for the stringing. I don't like the synthetics, such as trakker and web-x. I would go with Traditional, especially since it's your first stick.

You've gotten very good advice so far.
You're on the right track; I'd definitely stick with deBeer. They have good quality and good sticks. The Apex was my first stick and it served me very well. I now have their Envy and I love it to pieces. The Impluse has also gotten many good reviews. From what I know, Tempests are decent sticks as well at a good price.
Cascade's Iris goggles are very popular right now. The STX 4Sights are also gaining popularity.
