I just ordered a second off lax.com this week for 55 (no free shipping though...). Personally I never liked the proton and could never get used to it the several games I used it in. The profile on the other hand has become the spiritual successor to my trusty evo (I currently have my 1st backling up my torque) and I love the thing.

ive got both i like the proton and the profile but but they have different feels to them because well the profile is pinched and the sidewalls are different

i'd have to say go with the proton but thats cuz im old school and like wider heads better

my profiles fine tho and hasnt had any durability issues and the scoops on both heads are very nice and both a quite easy to string

get a proton and give er' a slight pinch. i love BOTH of mine. a college guy was talking to me once and he said that he knows a guy with a profile on a pole. it was never used. not even a scoop scratch and the 1st poke check of the game the scoop snapped...
