www.pclax.com <---Heard this one is good. In fact, I've been convinced enough by what I've heard about it to do the boys camp.

Also, in general, any local camp will likely be good, mainly because numbers will likely be low in comparison to larger nationally famous camps. In most cases, lower numbers=more face time with coaches=better learning experiences.

Are you looking for a recruitment camp or just a camp to learn?

Check out www.laxcamps.com. Look at NH; there's a good camp 8/6-9 at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH. It's a good camp in a beautiful place.

Dartmouth camps for boys and girls are quality camps. Had a player go to the boys camp last year and came back a new player. Highly recomend.

www.elevatelacrosse.com at Cold Spring Harbor High School on Long Island - week of July 24th. Jen Adams, Cathy Nelson, Dave Kotowski and other great coaches. Amy Appelt was there last year as well.

Elevate is a great camp. Tons of fun and I picked up alot of things from it. The counselors are great, its definately a camp to consider. There are a fair amount of locations, I usually do the overnight but I suppose the day camp would be just as fun. Plenty of locations, give it a look, bring your whole team.

My daughter went to an Elevate clinic here in Colorado and all I can say is "WOW!" Jen and Cathy are simply amazing. Of course, you are talking about a tandem that between them won 7 or 8 straight NCAA titles at Maryland as players, and one of them is the all time leading scorer in NCAA Women's Lacrosse. Of course, Jen was also named to the All World team at last year's World Cup. I wouldn't toot their horns so much without having seen their one day camp and then having seen them around town at other gatherings. They are just awesome people, and they teach the right way - fun mixed with a serious amount of good fundamentally sound teaching.

Boston University has a camp during the summer. Run by the two coaches with some assistance from the team. Heard good things about it over the years.

I always go to the Cornell lax camp which is a lot of fun. I see you live in CT, so try google searching 'lacrosse camps in connecticut'.

A lot of colleges have some great camps. I've been to one at Drew University, and I've heard good things about Princeton, Dartmouth, Johns Hopkins, and Duke.

What about Georgetown or Richmond camps?

Just a general comment, any lax camp you go to will help improve your game. Also, ask your coach if they recomend any. Often times they take part in some camps or personally know people/coaches who do that they can recomend.

lplax271: your info says you're in Connecticut, what part of ct are you in and/or what team do you play for? I might be able to recomend a few specifically in ct for you.

Sorry to bring this thread back. But, I am looking into camps for this summer ( a little late) and I was just wondering if anyone here has been to the Duke Super Elite camp and if they liked it or not.

Has anyone heard anything about the Top Gun camp for girls?

I think last year was their first year offering a camp for girls, and I was interested in possibly going next year. Has anyone gone to this or heard any opinions on it? Any info would be great.

Probably the two most popular recruiting camps are Loyola Elite 300 and the Duke Super Elite camp. I attended the Elite 300 last year, not too bad. I would like to attend one of the these this year, but I don't think I am able to due to a busy summer. Wether they are still open or not, I think the Duke one is, I'm not sure about the Elite 300.

Also, here is a good link to some more discussion about camps- http://www.laxpower.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11758

Are camps that have "Elite" or "Super Elite" in the titles generally recruiting camps?

The "Elite" title is usually meant to describe the camps that are for rising juniors and seniors moreso than to mean a recruiting camp. For instance, there's the PSU Elite camp, which they mention is for Varisty girls, but the PSU camp in general (both regular and elite), is mostly an instructional camp (a very good one I might add).

"Open" camps are more for anyone, usually ranging from grades 7-12. "Elite" camps are more for 11-12 or other Varsity players. The "Elite" camps are just going to focus on more advanced lacrosse rather than basic fundamentals which you might learn at an "Open" camp. So not all "Elite" camps are recruiting camps, but chances are most recruiting camps will be "Elite" camps because they're aiming to recruit the rising juniors and seniors.

Okay. So I am attending the JHU Super Elite, and as far as I know it is not a recruiting camp. Basically, if it is a recruiting camp (or even if it isn't) I should be expecting a high level of intensity from what you're saying?

Sweet.

I'm also pretty sure that its open to all high school players.

Super camp - Camp Director Ron Klausner is top notch! Not your typical "line drill" camp. Specialized instruction by top guys in our sport (Cantabene, Duncan, Toomey, Dwan, Curtis, Pietramala, and more)
Took my son there last year, and will most definetely take him there this summer as well.

In Michigan Mary Ann Meltzer (U of M coach) usually holds the Great Lakes Lacrosse Camp up in Birmingham, you can try to look that up, but otherwise like goaliegirl said Notre Dame's a good one, and I also heard Denison is also a good camp.

Michigan options:
1) Coach Meltzer said they weren't able to secure fields in B'ham this summer.
2) Lansing Waverly is hosting a PLC camp June 10-12.
3) MSU is having their annual all-day clinic on July 29th.
4) Okemos is hosting Academy International August 7-11 (they're an east-coast camp outfit...see http://www.academyinternational.net to register).
5) some from my team are going to Notre Dame and/or Northwestern's camps
