I AM SO FREAKING PISSED HERE'S WHY:

I just got done with our lacrosse game it was a great game all day long, I had already had 2 goals. In the fourth quater we were down 12-11. With one minute left my coach looked to me to make the tying goal. On a fast break I cut up got the feed a shot a bounce shot, beautiful. Bounces up, wraps around the top bar and comes out, still a goal obviously. Everyone is cheering, I am extatic. The ref calls off the goal says it wasn't in!! :cussing :angry :angry Everyone is yelling at the ref especially me. The opposing teams defenders are coming up to me "Wow, that was a nice shot it should have been called." Game Over We lose 12-11, my "goal" was called off.

The Ref was my dad. :angry :angry :angry :angry :angry :angry

I haven't talked to him all night. :cussing

ouch man, ouch. i can imagine how seriously pissed you were that it was a goal in the first place, but for your own flesh and blood to call it off, thats just a cherry on the cake. sorry about that man, but more important than the record is the fact that team members from both teams recognize that the shot was in, so at least you'll get your respect from that.

Oh I got the respect from the other team and my team, but I didn't get the pride of the goal.

PS. It's good to be back

that takes the cake as one of the worst things that could happen to you in a game

maybe he thought that if had called it a goal, that it would have created a lot of contoversy....people saying the whole thing was a scam and stuff. maybe he used his judgement and said that it was to close to make a good call, so he went the safe way.

How is there controversy when the opposing team is saying it's a goal. You won't win this fight.....

so your saying his dad sucks?:omg

haha you just said his dad sucks

but no i see what Dpole lax means
they are saying it was a goal now cause they won, had it tied the game up, and it not being a clear cut goal, i know it crossed the line so it should be, with out hitting the net some people will deny it was truly a goal, then they would be sayin it wasn't a goal and he only did it cause he was your dad. And mistakes happen, i am a ref for some sports so i know how hard it can be. But it being your dad must make the pain 10 times worse

Yeah i had one of those kinda, we were up by 2 goals and i put one in a a REALLY steep angle, and it kinda bounced off the net and back out. The ref said it hit the pipe. :-/ oh well. Im over it.

well obviously it was a goal, nice job, but the question is. shoud your dad really be reffing your games? we have so much contreversy already with our refs, beucase a lot of them grew up in the NoVa area, and they attended the schools that tehy're reffing for. most of the time, its no big deal, but when you notice that there's biased calls, that's when it becomes unfair. it def wasn't a good idea for your dad to ref. based on our serious hschool lacrosse it taken now.

Sorry, but I think it's funny. Next time he tells you to take out the trash, you'll move a little quicker.

I've had goals called back. It happens. Get over it. The game's over.

Definitely. The only reason might be that in Tenn. there's a lack of qualified officials. At least if it wasn't your dad you could tell him off. Anyways, it sucks, but learn from it and grow from it.

make sure you rifle it to the back of the net next time.

anyways I know how biased refs are, not calling helmet slashes, man in crease on goals, etc., etc. just know the other team liked it.

get your dad back in his sleep. or pretend to go into a depression.

it's only a game. you played you lost. and the ref is always, always, always right. i say noting to the refs on calls. just keep on there good side

btw when was the last time you pissed ur pops off. that could've had something to do wit it

No referee should ever work a game that his or her son is playing in. I knew a super star ref who wouldn't work games at schooks that his kids were going to, or had attended.

Your going to be accused of being for that team, or being too tough on that team. Don't do it. There are many other games to work, without setting yourself up to be in a bad position.

Sorry about the goal.

hey laxref...stop bringing up old threads...kind of useless making a response to a thread that was discussed 9 months ago.

I liked the twist at the end of your story. At the very end, you were like "he was my dad."
