i was on the olympic website about a week back, and according to their site, lacrosse has been played as an exhibition sport 3 times, i think they should start it again too...

I hate to say it, but many of those events are Olympics worthy...well, not including aquatics, badmiton, handball, and canoeing/kayaking. However, if we look around the world, there are many countries that participate heavily in lacrosse i.e. Canada and even Japan. If there is a World Lacrosse Championship, then lacrosse should definitley be put in as an Olympic sport. And only college age players should participate. I don't want to see Mark Millon and Casey Powell and all them on Team USA. I'd rather see Ian Dingman.

What keeps Lax from the Olympics primarily is that the international lacrosse federation's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Lacrosse_Federation) governing bodies for both men & women's lacrosse are separate entities as far as the IOC is concerned. It's not the only reason, but one apparently playing an importatn factor.

i believe lacrosse was in the olympics before but taken out in likthe the 30s or something. i like to think that it'll be put in atleast as an exibition by the 2012 games. myabe them taking baseball out will help y opening up a spot for another sport. the olympic committee will probably be watching this summers world games closely to see how that goes.

This has been discussed so many times-you need to search

It was in the Olympics back in the early 1900's-but the only teams that competed were a native american team, canadian team, and american team. There are far too little countries that play lacrosse.
