size doesn't matter at all
lacrosse is more about running and athleic abiltiy then size
i would say as a guess around the high 5's maybe low 6's but most of them aren't hugely built

I think size matters only for D

size, in my oppinion, doesn matter for any posistion. one position u need a big guy i guess is crease defenseman, but other than that as long as u hav good footwork u can play any position well (excluding goalie, just cause u need reaction, not to much footwork for that)

as a goalie in training, i have to protest against the goalies need no footwork comment. man, its worse than the salsa... yes, you need fast hands AND feet for goalie!

just so ya know that wasn a hit towards goalies or nothin, by footwork i was mainly talkin about play defence with ur feet. like a d man playin on a wing (right or left side) attackman, he doesn need to be a big guy to keep his man from goin to the goal, he just needs good footwork to stay in front of his man (not sure if i explained myself well there either, but no worries)

size doesnt matter at all but it sure does help if two players are identical, the bigger guy will usaully do better because he takes less punishment and holds his ground better. Think of it as a fight, there are about 5-6 guys i know i want to fight with me that are gnarly but if one of them is there and is bigger than my 5'4'' buddy, i want the big one.

size can be an advantage for any position, you just have to know how to use it.

If you're tall enough, you can shoot over your defender, or ride better. Also, be sure to throw your weight around on ground balls. In addition, hitting the weight room never did anyone any harm. If you weigh alot, it doesn't really matter if you don't sacrifice speed.

Goalie in my mind is mainly foot posotion latinbabe is right. Footwork is the main key to being a successful goalie. You have to step to the ball and having proper footwork makes it so much easier to make a save. When you have the footwork down it comes to you in games and you dont even think. to b a good goalie footwork is very important

i dunno if id say size matters on d, its almost a problem some times we have 2 real big defenders on the team and ne time they body check some one (that they are bigger then) even if its a legal hit it almost always gets called bc they just cant get low enough to make it look legal, so its sort of a disadvantage

size is overr atted(sic) , i'm 15, 5'6" and weigh 120 lbs, and i play varsity as a long pole midi, that doesn't mean i can't play well, just last gamme i took out their star player out of the gamme with a hit that knocked his helmet off, strenght and speed matter a lot more than weight(although it helps to have a little extra to throw around)

yeah size helps you push people around but thats useless if you dont have good footwork which generally the smaller guys have

Must we really bring back alive an 11 month old thread?

instead of us all listing our sizes, lets look at this.

Mikey Powell is listed as what...5'7? 5'9? 170? And he's considered the most dominant player in lacrosse today.

Millon ain't too big either, and he's dangerous too.

Matt Russell is a shrimp and he's arguably the best goalie in the NCAA.

Mike Battista can shoot 99.9 MPH (what he clocked during an event last year) and he's a measely 5'8 180 (the site says 5'11 but Battista himself says he's 5'8). And Battista nearly didn't play D1 Lacrosse because he was too slow and was a weak defender (Hey look, a slow, defensive liability who's not much of a passer was an NCAA All American...hmm? Note: obviously he worked his butt off and hes much faster now and this year he really showed his defensive capablities...but still).

While on the other hand, Gary Gait is 6-2 215 and he dominates the game.

Have you seen enough? Size does not matter in the MLL, as long as you have a good stick (stick skills, not the type of stick you have, you stick tech obsessioners :ahhno: )
