Last year, I participated in a lacrosse game in which 76 players attempted to break the world record for the longest lacrosse game ever played. We were successful not only in breaking the record, but we also raised a lot of money for a good cause. It was a great experience to say the least, and I will have many great memories from the event for years to come. This summer, I will once again participate in an attempt to set a world record, and do my part to give something back to the game that has given me so much..

On July 8th, 2006, approximately 80 men and 80 women will gather in Boston to participate in the 2nd Annual "World Record Lacrosse Game" and successfully set the World Record for the Longest Continuous Men's and Women's Lacrosse Game Ever Played! In 2005, the World Record Lacrosse Game established the men's record at 8 hours and 16 minutes, featured 76 lacrosse players from 12 states, and raised over $50,000 for MetroLacrosse's inner-city lacrosse and education programs. This year, we're out to break our own record in men's lacrosse and to establish an innaugural record for women's lacrosse. The Rodman Ride for Kids will generously match 20% of all funds donated to MetroLacrosse through the World Record Lacrosse Game. Please get involved as a player, sponsor, or volunteer!

is there only one team? i went to register, and it only had one team. Tempus.
And its $500? what the hell is that about. I doubt many college kids are going to be able to get 500 bucks

I did something, like this for Kartina, called Lax for Louisiana. We played against the NOLC Jesters. It went from 12-12. But it wasnt continuous.

I am always up for supporting fundraisers...however I didnt participate last year and wont this year...
Reasons:
#1 "I am obligated to raise a minimum of $500 for MetroLacrosse." So if I had $150 to $200 raised I still couldn't participate...
#2 all the $ goes to MetroLax's inner city lax programs...if there was money distributed to other programs or to US lacrosse in general, sure...but I am not driving all the way up to Boston to raise money for their inner city lax programs...kind of sounds selfish...but there are other lax causes closer to home for me to donate my time/$ to

That's so awesome, I want to do more for lax, but since I'm still young there's only so much that I can do. But I know in the future there I will definitly be giving more back! You participating in that Dave is really a great thing and I can't say anything more than; Wow you certainly make a difference not only in the world of lax but in helping others as well! Very cool Dave! :)
