I'm a new High School official with a question on Multiple fouls by the same player during a flag down situation. Here is the scenario:

B1 goes offsides, flag down, and returns to the proper half of the field and then goes offside again and continues to play during the slow whistle. What foul has B1 has committed?

a. one technical foul
b. two technical fouls
c. one technical foul and one unsportsmanlike foul
d. no foul committed

I couldn't find any mention of multiple fouls by the same team in the rulebook. I saw mention of simultaneous fouls (by opposing teams) and know that personal fouls will always be enforced regardless of whether a technical foul has occured. Still, where is the handling of 2 technical fouls on the same team mentioned? Furthermore, should the official consider the 2nd offsides above a personal foul since it is a repeated act? Thank you.

I think its A because if the player is offsides, he is offsides regardless of where he returns. But I might be wrong. In a game I have seen this situation only called as 1 foul.

A.R. 54. B1 goes offside and returns to the proper half of the field, and then goes offside again and continues to play during a slow whistle. RULING: The same player going offside twice is one technical foul.

Same for NFHS, different for international play.

Repeatedly committing the same technical foul is a USC foul (NFHS 5-9-1.d. However, that is during the course of the game over several incidents. So, if the same player keeps substituting illegally, that would be a USC. In this case, during the same live ball situation, that rule doesn't apply since he hasn't been warned. I think you can see the difference here.

A player who is offsides might as well STAY offsides and help out the defense, as returning to the onside position doesn't negate the penalty. So, help out until the whistle blows and you have to leave the field to serve the offside 30 second penalty.

The one that cracked me up was the one where B1 stepped over the line, then jumped back, and I threw the flag. The coaches are screaming "Go! Go! Go over!" because they knew once he was over he might a well stay over and play D. But then B2 went over because he thought they were yelling at him, so they got another flag!
