So I've been playing this game in the last month and basically, it's the balls. I've beaten it a few times on normal, and gotten the best weapons, but now I'm playing it on pro and can't friggin beat Krauser in the final battle with him. He's too fast. Anyone else play this game?

i was going to make a thread on this. i wanted to know if it would be too hard for an average gamer to play because i don't want to spend money on a game that is too hard. the reason i thought it would be difficult is because in gamespot.com's review it said that the difficulty is hard.

also what system do you play it on

It's the only one i've played, and it whips the llama's behind. Only difficulty is i don't own a Gamecube nor RE4...

I only played a few hours of it at a friends house, but it is awesome.

Awesome game, beat it when I rented it then bought it because I loved it so much. Since I bought it I think I am on my third time through, and I still hate the same parts that I did when I played it the first time. I dont play it at school so whenever I go home I play it but its still amazing. I finally got the unlimited rocket launcher thing ao I am happy. So in a few weeks I shall play it again. =)

it kinda loses its fun when you get the infinite launcher and the chicago typewriter. I tried dumping every gun except for my killer7. It was pretty tough then. There have been numerous times that I ran out of ammo on pro mode. I took everyone down with my knife.

I wouldnt say its very hard. It's hard at first to get used to the controls, but within a couple hours you'll be fine. They really are pretty ingenius controls. If you play it on hard, you have to use other techniques to take out the guys, or you'll run out of ammo. Like, you have to shoot them in the head then run up to them and kick them back. My personal favorite is to put a punisher shot in their knee, then run up and give them a suplex and their head explodes. Pretty sweet. If you learn how to manage the battles well, it's easy to win. Just bottleneck the guys and you'll do fine. If you try to fight a ton of people all around you, you'll think it's really hard.

I play on NGC. It belongs to my friend, but they have ps2 in their room so we just keep it in mine.

I actually just got that rocket launcher before the final boss so I havent actually had too much time to use it, but I havent gotten the chicago typewriter yet. (took me forever to get enough money to buy it) Do you get that in the extra gameplay mode, the name isnt coming to me... Umm, the one where you kill as many as you can within a certain amount of time? Ive done pretty well in that but cant seem to do well with Krauser.

Yeah I like shooting them in the knees then going up to them. I havent played it on any other mode than on the default one but after I beat it again I am sure I will try it on a harder gameplay. (and fail miserably)

I'm not very good in mercenaries. I got ada, but I haven't done much else. I don't find it very much fun. I do pretty well with krauser, I just try to build them all up in a line in front of me then transform the arm and kill all of them. you can buy the chicago typewriter after you complete the game on normal. It's 1 million pesetas, just like the infinite launcher. If you completely beat the mercenaries you get the hand cannon. It's a basic .45 magnum, when you fully upgrade it turns into a .50 magnum. YOu have to get 5 stars for every character on every level.

Yeah,The Mercenaries is the pits. My firend has all the RE games for NGC and has unlocked everythin in Resident Evil 4.

I love this game, definitly should have won game of the year. The first time I ever played it it was 3 in the morning, and my friend warned me not to play it in the dark. I did, and it scared the hell oughta me. I think I leanred all the controls after my head was torn off by a chainsaw the first time.

Personally, I relly liked the switched camera view, still controls like a tank but no awkward camera angles! Also as a huge Shenmue fan and a guy who grew up on the Dragon's Lair games (who doesn't love Don Bluth & Dirk the Dairing???) I love the addition of Quick Time Events.

i just beat it on pro mode. Krauser was a pain in the butt to beat, and the final boss took forever. I kept waiting for his eyes to open without knowing a striker blast to the main eye would take him down. I ran out of health items, but then I beat it, so whatever.

I must say I'm disappointed that only PS2 offers the knight and mobster costume. I was looking forward to using them.

I would say it's close to the best game I've ever played. Save goldeneye.

I really liked it but I thought it was odd that right in the middle of a level for some obscure reason the is a puzzle. I mean, crazy izombies are trying to eat me and all i'm doing is turning a dail.

thats what RE games are. Puzzles, and zombies. It wouldn't be resident evil if there weren't random puzzles to solve.

Beat pro mode last night. Now I have the chicago typewriter on pro mode.

I got this game on ps2 now, and I am addicted to it once again. Just thought i'd bring this back up. Started playing mercenaries more, and dr. salvador on water world is the most BA character ever. Swingin his chainsaw like mad, just charging right at you... it's awesome. And it turns out Krauser is much easier to defeat with a knife than any other weapon. on pro it took me about 30 seconds to beat him.

though i have to say...video mode for the movies on the ps2 is destroyed by the cgi movies on GC. I only wish you could see leon with his mobster outfit in all the movies.

My friend and I play it when we go over to each other's houses, and I love it. The gameplay is sweet, and it's so scary. I gotta say that the scariest part of the whole game is when you first fight the regenerators, it scares the crap out of me. The runner-up would have to be when you fight Salazar's right hand. It kinda loses its value when you get the Chicago typewriter and the infinite rocket launcher, but it's an awesome game nonetheless. I really wish my dad would let me buy it.

salazar's right hand (verdugo) can easily be beaten, which I didn't realize until my most recent run-through. All you do is buy a rocket launcher, knock over 1 liquid nitrogen tank, then shoot him with the rocket launcher. I didn't realize it was so easy... u3 is the worst boss just because he can take so much freakin damage, and he just keeps grabbing you when you run through the different chambers. Saddler on pro is harder than I remembered as well. It takes stabbing his eye about 10 times to actually kill him. Of course, all of that is different with the P.R.L. 412....

one thing that disappointed me was the scare factor though....RE2 was so jumpy especially the scene with the licker busting through the interrigation room window. there were only a couple times in RE4 when I was actually freaked out. Most of them just dealt with the Colmillos (crazy parasite dogs). And the first time going through the village going "oh s, oh s, oh s, dude there's a guy with a chainsaw running after me" with my friend who had beaten the game just sitting there watching and laughing.

I would say I would buy a wii for it, but I won't. I'll just make my friend buy it then go over his room. Seriously, no HD support? I'm interested to see what RE5 will look like. REmake looks interesting too.
