I just hand stretch it a bit, string it up, then pound the stuffing out of it

Same here. I just sit and watch tv and stretch (and squash and roll) the mesh around and string it up. Sometimes it retains a good degree of stiffness and requires some extra pounding and/or ball & knifing, though I did get a piece that was pretty pliable from the get-go so I strung it right away.

just stretch it as much as possible by hand b4 u string it and then once its strung either use the ball and knife trick to stretch it or pound the pocket

I take it to the spa. Well, kind of. I give them a nice hot water bath and rub conditioner into them while stretching them. After repeating this up to 5 times, I string it up.

personally, i dont think 5d really need any vigerous stretching, its diamonds are big enough that once pulled out like 3 times, its good to go.

Do not get it wet. It gets all weird if your get it wet and condition it. I hand stretch it for quite a while doing every little teak and pull I can think of. Ask Orange my good stretched 5di pieces are quite soft and nice.

Yeah if you take your time stretching it a lot over and over it will get a nice feel to it. I do NOT suggest wetting it because it just gets harder after it dries.

if you really want to stretch it out good then take some tacks and tack it stretched out and leave it there for a night

I have a question. I stretched the crap out of my 5D, and now it's illegal. Once I strung it up, it was almost illegal, and now after passing it around its illegal by about a cm. Is there any way to fix it?

Tighten up your bottom string and sidewalls. If that doesn't work, redo your sidewalls.

My bottom string is at tight as possible, which makes it hard to 1 handed cradle.

Tighten sidewalls to the absolute max, and redo your bottom string like Orange's. I had the same problem until he showed me that little trick.
