So the season is beginning, and I was wondering, do any members here besides like skip01 and myself play in the NCLL (National Club Lacrosse League (http://www.ncllax.com))? Obviously this guy does:
P.S. NCLL represent

So I play midfield for Lynchburg... anybody else?

Play MDIA, its more serious as a program. However NCLL teams can have a ton of talent I will say. UM would be a killer lax experience considering they play DI teams some times.

I play MDIA

mrmcool, how's the compition in NCLL? Hopefully I will be able to transfer my soph year to either Towson or Univ. of Maryland in a couple of years and lax would be sick. I'm playing lax freshman yr at a DIII school, so I'll def have experience and wont be too rusty. Plus, do you have to pay any dues and if so, how much? Do you guys have try-outs, or is it just based on signing up or not?

I play NCLL for Bowling Green in Ohio. the competition can be really good, and really bad, depends how organized a team is, since its club, it varies.

NCLL ball is nice, but all in all MDIA is the way to go....more competitive as a whole and very well organized.

Dues really just depend on the team....some teams in my conference (UMLL---upper midwest lax league) have dues around $300/person, while some approach $2000/person per season.

Also, alot of MDIA teams play against ncaa teams (usually never vs. div 1)....#4 Umich just played D3 Kenyon and lost I believe 15-10. Their first few lines are competitive, but depth is the differential between club (mdia or ncll) and ncaa.

so is the difference between MDIA and NCLL kind of like the difference betweem DII and DIII? even though DII is suposed to be more talented theres a lot more competition on the DIII level

Hofstra Club in the NCLL. NCLL is decent competition based on how developed and organized teh teams are. Some are good, but others are very very bad. E.G. Some teams have guys that could play on their DI teams and others probably would be 2nd or 3rd string on mediocre High School teams.

Don't usually bring back old threads, but I play in the NCLL for Binghamton. I thought it was appropriate to bring back the thread, considering our final four is taking place this coming weekend in Virginia. I'll be there playing for Binghamton in the D1 bracket, and I'm fairly sure mrmccool will be there playing for Lynchburg in the D2 bracket. For mccool, watch out for Cortland if you play them, they've got a pretty good team. We played them at Cortland earlier in the year, and they brought out a ton of kids to play.. granted it was at home for them but they still had more players than usual. We had about 3 subs, and won it in OT 10-9 I believe. They have a bunch of kids that were fall semester or ex-varsity, you can tell by the helmets. The reason I've heard is that the team takes on a bunch of recruits each year in plans of cutting a lot of them.

while there are a lot of teams in the USLIA, most of them suck. the top 25 teams are the only ones with real talent
