ok the knicks just got steve francis in a deal giving away penny hardaway and trevor ariza. i wanna know what you guys think about this. i think it is a good trade expect for the fact the both marbury and francis r too small to guard most shooting guards.

terrible deal for the magic, for francis you could get a little more then a former 2nd rounder and anfernee hardaway.the magic clear some cap room but still. I wouldve traded francis for another shooting guard who's young and improving.

still the knicks have no chemistry. I say deal francis to someone like the bobcats and pick up a draft choice.

great, the Knicks have even more primadonnas on their roster, and now they have a set of guards including Quentin Richardson, Stephon Marbury, Jalen Rose, Steve Francis, and Jamal Crawford-all guys who demand considerable minutes and take a great deal of shots.

New York now becomes simply too crowded at guard. When you have 5 players who can (and are used to) scoring 15-20 points a game and log 30-40 minutes, it's not going to work out. Why couldn't New York address its real problems at forward and center? They've had skilled guards for years, but never an impact power forward or center since the days of Patrick Ewing. Offensively, it's a black hole when you hit their forwards.

This wasn't that bad of a deal with Orlando. Hardaway could have a mini revival back in Orlando, while they free up a ton of cap room this year to resign Dwight Howard and take a shot at some big money free agents. Remember, a chunk of cap room is considerated just as important as trading for a good player. Really, Orlando couldn't have gotten much better, unless they were to magically pry away Ben Gordon from Chicago, or somehow managed to get Artest about a month ago.

In terms of team chemistry, Francis was a poison. He wasn't scoring too well, and now, Orlando can rely on its EXTREMLY promising youth, including Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson. Nelson can now take over the point and immediately become an impact player (yes, he is that good), and Howard is the true "Franchise" for Orlando. Orlando simply gets rid of a huge burden over their team.

Eddy Curry hasn't been doing too well in NY. It just reminds me of Kwame Brown :hot: I hate Kwame!

ARE YOU PEOPLE KIDDING?

The Knicks are going by the policy of "throw enough poop at the wall, some of it is bound to stick" (Quoting Steve Kerr)

The Knicks now have 2 very undersized shoot first point guards. Which of them will guard Kobe? Neither of them are good defensively and both are listed at under 6'2. The Knicks have no team chemistry, they keep changing players. They have no draft picks in the next few years, those were traded for old, expensive, shooting guards. The Knicks are going nowhere. Trevor Ariza could have been a major talent, but the Knicks won't give him time to develop. Hardaway's contract was about to expire, and they traded that away too. I don't know where they're going, and its times like these I thank God im a Warriors fan.

yeah, not too late to trade francis again they have until 3 pm. It said in the paper that the Lakers had interest in him. Kobe And Francis with the right teamwork could be a good duo, plus the lakers have plenty of young big men who could help in NY.
