Check out www.metal-archives.com

I'm looking for sites similar to that, but with different genres. Or a site that encompasses music as a whole. The above link, Metal Archives, a site that lists as many metal bands as they can find, and gives as complete information as possible about that band.

Perfectly good example (link). (http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=125)

If anybody knew of sites like this, i'd really appreciate you letting me know. I'm constantly finding new bands and listening to them, and i love almost all forms of music. Genres i don't like: opera, techno/electronica. Industrial is alright, but i think Nine Inch Nails or KMFDM is probably the most i'll delve into that genre.

All help is appreciated.

Ok, not exactly what you're asking for....but archive.org has an immense amount of live shows that people have recorded. I recommend it to everyone.

edit: I used to know a site that you could type in one band you liked and it would give you an entire big list of similar bands...

http://www.pandora.com/ works pretty well. Type in a name of a band you like and a bunch of related bands songs play. This is how I found out about Kalmah

Edit: I thought you meant a place to find music. If your looking up info about a band you know, Wikipedia works well. Other than that, I really can't think of anything.

Rereading makes it clear that i did not make my objective clear.

I am looking for new bands and a site that, in a sense, archives them all in a particular genre.
