Well, today is the NLL announcement deadline (once again), and NLL fans all over the country are awaiting what changes may be in store for all of us. There are several teams with rumors surrounding them, and today we are supposed to have those rumors confirmed or denied. My question is which ones in your mind will happen??
Phoenix---either Columbus or New Jersey will appear here
Tampa Bay---New Jersey is also rumored here
Winnepeg---Ottawa is supposed to end up here, or it could be Montreal.
Minnesota---Supposidly New York or Columbus would be the rumor.
What do you think??:flag

I think Tampa bay could happen, NJ is not a good team, especially with the whole Jayson Williams thing... Minnesota will happen in the next few years, I guarantee you, but Columbus will not go anywhere. I don't believe the Winnipeg one.

:laugh I should've included one more choice:
--nothing would happen at all
Because thats the one that happened....so far. Freakin NLL doesn't abide by any of its "official" dates!:laugh

Yea I know! that one of the things I hate about the Nll. They almost never ever follow by the dates the set for things like expansion. grrr If they are going to move anymore teams I wish they would do it sooner rather than later

Well, the latest rumor (which seems to change daily) is that New Jersey is going to Anaheim.
Now with that being said, the main problem with the NLL not meeting these dates is the fact that every week the whole deal changes. Hell, one month ago when this all was supposed to be taken care of, Columbus was in Minnesota. Now, Minnesota won't have a team until 2005 at best. How can the NLL abide by the cut off dates, if no one else does?

Well, the whole point of the cut off date is so that the owners of the teams know how long they have to make their deal. But the pathetic thing is that the commissioner's office wants those deals to go through about as bad as the owners of the teams. Because of that, these dates get shoved around, if it can guarentee that a deal can be worked out.
You want to blame someone? Blame the negotiators of these deals, because for some reason the "Round Robin" rotisserie action of these potential buyers continue to rule the roost. One day team A is going to city B, and then the next day, city C steps forward and spins the rumor mill again.
I love the fact that there are so many potential cities trying for a team, but this season in particular is leaving NLL fans with their heads spinning, and confused as to what actually will take place. The sure thing this week is that NJ to Anaheim rumor. Last week, it was NJ to TB. The week before that, Columbus to cease operations. The week before that, Columbus to Minnesota.
You get it yet? Because if you do, mind explaining it to me?
whoops i didnt see the edit botton lol

Sure, put a team in Anaheim just so Walt Disney can own another team. Hey, they could make a movie out of it! j/k

Actually, Disney wouldn't be the owners. They're getting out of sports all together.

instead of moving all these teams, y not just put new teams there? i mean, of course if money is a problem, that would explain it, but it would help sum of us fans that only have the one team we can get to kepp it for a while longer.

The teams aren't the problem 8-ball, the ownership groups are. While the game markets itself when people watch it, you have got to get the fans there to enjoy it. Because some teams market like crap, these specific teams fail. Moving these teams to cities and ownership groups who actually want them, is the better move for the league as a whole.

yeah, i just read that lacrosse journal thing, as much as it hurts, it would be the smarter, more responsible thing to move those teams, including columbus. even though now ill have no team to go see unless i wanna drive into new york or PA. either way i hope it works out for the best.

yea it really is to bad, about columbus. I remember a couple of years ago when they were hyped similler to the mammoth. I can sympathize 8-ball, as much as I loved the wings, I do miss my washington power.
