Bs..everyone knows the best state to find lax in is MD.. there is MD vs NY all star high school game every yr..last 6 yrs MD has whooped the boys from up north ..all you damn canucks and your right hands..you gotta learn how to put the stick in your other hand of you want to play with MD anymore...

Seriously, if you want the best lacrosse, come to the Maryland Region. In D1 and D3 we always have a number of teams that dominate the top ranks.

they are from eastern shore...nah ..its a public school .. in 1A-2A region..went to state finals last year..hope to be back there this year and win it ..:-)

I'm not trying to argue anything our coach used to play for Calvert County (I'm not sure if that's the same thing as Calvert Hall). Anyways I could care less which state is better, but looking at your guys's arguements here makes me laugh.

There is no way to claim MD is soooo much better than NY...
Both areas put out the best players...
I wish there was a national HS championship...it would make for some great lax...

yeah it would ..i would love to have it..would be hard to compare though ..its done differently in both states soo...i don' know how they would do it..but that would be sweet to see it go beyond the state level...

Just an observation about this whole MD NY/NJ/PA query that appears alot on the various bbs' on the net.

It appears the thread starter is always from MD, not NY.

Why is MD so insecure about its place in HS sports? :argue :banghead

Most D1 programs excel with a mix of players from both states amongst others.

JM is right.

The fact is Maryland might have some of the better teams overall, but that is only .5% of the teams out there. NY has MORE overall better teams... that includes public schools, private schools, whatever. Those two states are by far the best, followed by PA then NJ. Use stats and games from past seasons and thats easy to see.

NJ is far better than PA ..what about the top schools in nation loyola CH MH?... you guys get WEst Gennie.. thats it..POa..you have jack..NJ has some good LI teams...don't even try it on MD though..

Jim M, you are saying we are insecure? We use common knowledge, thats all. Yea, you can have players from all across the country but apprently MD knows how to pick the better ones and have a better coaching staff. The top in HS and College come from MD. Maybe not every top school, but there is always more MD teams than other states up there.

Maybe if you guys were on this board for a longer time you would realize that that kind of stuff gets really annoying.

And I dont care what the best state is really, but I certainly dont think that Maryland is the no-brainer best state... theres good competition everywhere and there is no way to tell what the best state is.

that is why i don't go to the laxpower HS boards or the longislandlacrosse website...and why IL boards used to suck...
too much crap that one area is way better than the others...MD and NY are both excellent...get over it...you cant justify one being better because there are so many variables involved...
and you CAN'T include college because there are kids from all over the country playing on the different teams...

new york has the better average player i think because their public and private schools are both very good. but maryland has the miaa which is said to be the toughest leauge in the country. and maryland has the top players but they also ahve so kid that arent that good so it depends on what u mena by which stat has better lacrosse. by if u mean average lacrosse player is better or out of the states best 20 guys whose better

yea virginia, maryland, new york all great lax states, the top 3 in fact. however, being from connecticut, there are many great high school teams up here. ever heard of lee zink? yup from CT. Ever heard of Matt Russel, yup connecticut. Sure, ther's no good lax colleges up here. but last week the state tournament was huge and us, winning 9-6 in front of 3500 fans. its not the best, but you cant forget CT
