Syracuse beating Hofstra?
Loyola squeaking by UMBC?

This should be a wide open year for the top seeds.

it's still too early, bound to have some upsets....must have been great games with those close scores..on a side note i am going to the penn osu game on saturday...looks like penn is having a decent season so far...

yeah i thnk it is a little early to tell but yeah i still believe that anyone can take the cake for the top positions...but yeah some of these upsets hav been very surprising to me.

i think it's a good think with more of us playing lax at least there is more parity...other programs are getting good players as well...

OU is going to have a horrible season w/o dobbie, they are way too young...OSU will be better but both will be at the bottom of the ALC...

Loyola has struggled ever since Eyler (sp?) left. Richmond and Syracuse are both underrated.

But I think every team is allowed one game (at most two) a season where they're off. Certainly at the D1 level one can argue it shouldn't happen but there's always the chance for any one team to prevail. It's like the men's D1 upsets last spring. Now it's the women's turn?

Haha, seriously, as much as I would not like to say it, the CA girls are doing pretty darn well. Mandy is holding her own, and even though they lost to MD 12-9, she had 4 of those 9 goals. Very impressive. Richmond could definitely be a tournament team. But to be honest, it was one game, everyone has their good and bad days, I wouldn't blow this too far out of proportion. I think the main thing to get from this is Richmond is a team to watch, but by no means is UVA not going to be good.

I also agree with the diluted/larger talent pool idea. With more D1 teams and more players, not everyone's going to Maryland, UVA, UNC, Princeton, etc. anymore.

Heard that many BU players missed the game due to food poisoning. If so, that score makes more sense.

NOt trying to spin it or take anything away from a William & Mary team that got a big win.

I have no ties to BU, but if half the team is sick (which I have no proof of other than word of mouth), then I'm not going to write off the Terriers as a top ten team.

Maybe whatever the team ate has something to do with that jinx.

It always seems BU has early-season jitters based on the past few seasons. Don't write them off. Or W&M, a good team too. Any other day I'd pick BU to walk away with a W though.
