With lacrosse season coming up soon/having already started for some of you, what are your goals for the season.

Mine are:
Goals:58(that might be a little much. I'm not sure yet.)
Assists:47
Groundballs:100+
Drawcontrols:I want to help my team win them just about every time
Caused Turnovers:I don't know, alot.
I want to get All-American this year, since it fell through last year, or at least All-state.
-Team wise, I think it would be cool to win SWC's again and make it farther into states than last year. It would be really cool to win sttes, but I think that for us it is a little far out of reach.(maybe)

**I am pretty sure there has been a thread like this before but I figured new season, new goals, new thread.

I have some personal goals, but with 11 seniors this year, it's more important that our team does well. I'm hoping that we win all the games that we should. Last year we couldn't close out on the close games and I really hope that we can this year. And of course, I want to beat our school rival, who've never beat in girls lacrosse (but it's been really close these last few years). It's about time that happens.
Personal Goals-
I'm really hoping for a big season.
Last year I had 45g and 14a.
I would like to get around 60g this year and about 25-30a.
It would be great if I did better than that and I got 100 points, that's my ultimate goal.
Not really sure about All-anything but I know I'll get at least All-County honors like last year.

These are the goals I set for my team for every game this season:
35+ Groundballs
25+ Shots Taken
Less Than 12 Fouls
Less Than 15 Shots Allowed (Against Our Goalie)
14+ Goals For
Less Than 10 Goals Against, Hold Opponent To Single Digit
15+ Caused Turnovers
Less Than 10 Turnovers
75% Draw Controls
Proper Setup For Rides & Clears Every Time
As Many Assists As Goals
Lead At Halftime

-70% Save percentage
-Keep teams to single digits
-Minimize turnovers on clears

That's pretty much it for personal goals. It's not asking for too much, I was pretty close to those stats last year, but there's definitely room for improvement. Other than that, I really don't care too much about my stats as much as I do that I have fun this year and win all the games that my team should. You can have 25 saves but that doesn't meant you'll win (it's happened to me before), so for me, it's more important to come out with the W, having fun, than racking up those 25 saves.

AA is a little over-rated as well, it's so political IMO. I would give up any All-American or All-state awards if it meant that my team would win sectionals or just beat our rival (it's been painfully close the past two years losing 3/4 games by one and the other one by two). I just want to stay positive and minimize my bad days.

For my team, I want us to beat our rivals and let our seniors have the time of their lives winning almost all the games we play. I would like us to be a unit. We've had problems in the past splitting up and just going on a hate streak, but this year we're all close, and I'd like it to stay that way. We've also had a tendency towards the end of the season so go on a 5 or 6 game losing streak, always coming back to make it to secitonals, but our record could be so much better if we didn't drop those games.

So I guess that's it. Moral of the story, I want to win all the games we can and have a fun time doing it. That requires me to be on top of my game, so whatever stats may come with it, so be it. But as of now, I'm more concerned with just taking one shot at a time, having a good time, and letting the rest fall into place.

Oh, and maybe score a goal. haha, not really, but I have my dreams.

-Be one of the top scorers on my team..or just more involved/important etcc
-Have the highest shot percentage on my team..
-Win CIF...it's a reach...butt this year is looking good and it would be amazing to show everyone up this season and in playoffs.
-Have our team be balanced etc, not have it just be like 2 people doing everything like last year...
-Destroy our rival...we played them today in a 25 min scrimmage and beat them 3-5, but in a real game I want to kill them... UGH I hate them sooo we need to do well..
-oooo score more with my left, and just use it more in general
-get in on more draws ---I play low attack, but I want to be more involved on the draws..

I'm just excited for the season, and it looks really good for my team..and want to winn

I just want to have a great year I would love to make all american but I would rather have my team for the first time in school history walk away with a winning record and finally gain the respect the we desereve as a team. As a personal goal I think that I would like to hit 200 college career goals that would be enough of an accomplishment to me but if that doesnt happen b/c that is saying that i would need to score 50 goals I would settle for a playoff birth making it to the championship game.

I don't have stats or honors to achieve. I just want to play for varsity, help my team kick some @$$, improve my skills (running most importantly), and have FUN.

As a team, I would definitly like to make it to the reginal game, and win.
As an individual:
-improve left hand shooting
-be satisfied with the way I play
Thats all really.

-make the coaches and my team mates proud
-win a county title
-give the seniors a season to remember
-improve my endurance/ speed
-most important, have a good time
i think its more important to help the team, and work together rather than focus on personal goal such as: score x amount of goals, or recover x amount of ground balls.

Be more involved, be a better captain, learn to string better, gain more comfidence in myself and the way I play, and the biggest one: STOP BEING ON THE INJURED LIST!!!!!!!!

I'd like to bring this back up. I know not everyone is done with their season, me included, but I know some people have been done with theirs for a while. Anyways, I thought it would be pretty cool if you guys quoted yourself so we can see your goals, and then post the outcome of your season (if it is over, if not, just wait) to see how close you came to meeting your goals. Feel free to also include things that you feel are important that may not have been a goal of yours. Anything from from your team record to AA to making a National Tournament team to beating your school rival is fine. Also, even if you didn't post a season goal, I think it would still be fine if you posted the outcome of your season, maybe with some goals you may have had but just never posted.

I'll post mine when my season finishes up in a week or so.

Well, my goals were per game, and I'm not gonna break out my team's stats for every game. I will tell you two of my/our goals for this season were to be .500 or above, and to make it past the second round of the playoffs. We finished the season 10-6, so far so good, and we lost in the semi-finals of the playoffs, yay! Pretty stellar season as far as I'm concerned. Broke lots of records, had a lot of "firsts", 5 girls voted all-stars. Can't complain.

I didn't end up playing varsity. I was stuck between the teams for about half the season, but only played for about five minutes in one game. I did use those five minutes to make a goal though! :D Other than that, I did get to help out my jv team. I did my best to teach and assist the new girls, and I led my team in scoring. I did become a better runner, but still not as good as I'd hoped. Summer training, here I come! At the banquet over the weekend I recieved the award for Offensive MVP. And hell yes, I had FUN! I'll miss those girls to death and can't wait for next season! :agree:

It was funny because I just read my goal for the year and my season ended about 2 weeks ago and my team had a winning record going from 3-11 last year to being 9-6 we won the semi final game and made it to the championship round...and lost but we made it and then we got a 2nd seed invite to ECAC's first time in team history and I hit my goal of 200 career goals and thought i had a great year I also was an all conference 1st team pick and was player of the year which was unexpected and our team was amazing...every goal i had was accomplished I guess I am pretty excited already for next year...Goal next year NCAA birth!!!!

Well, my season is officially over as I had my end of the year banquet this morning. Nine seniors are leaving us, but hopefully all will work out, just like this year. Anyways, here we go.

Team-
Record: 15-5
166 Goals (41% shooting)
94 Assists
5 girls with 20 or more goals
A whole lot of other stats people probably don't care about :)

Personal Stats-
288 Saves (go defense :banghead:)
125 Goals against
69.7% Save Percentage
6.58 GAA

Other awards (that I know of at the moment)-
1st team All-League
Honorable Mention All-American (missed 1st team by 5 votes)

Overall, we did quite well. Not the defense I was hoping for, but we implemented some new things and picked it up quite nicely. We also came out beating our rivals...twice. It sweet, especially the last one where we were down by two with 1:30 left, came back and won it in OT (perfect example of why you never shoot while in a stall). We didn't make it as far in sectionals as I would have hoped, but we were finally a team this year. Not once did we hate each other’s guts like years before. I would say it was a pretty good year for my team.

Oh, and maybe score a goal. haha, not really, but I have my dreams.

Yeahh, that didn't happen :chuckle: I did manage to have my first shutout on Varsity this season though, so that makes up for the lack of my goal scoring.

Ok. So our season ended yesterday with a loss to Wilton 14-5 in the 2nd round of states and I spent that night in tears. It was such an amazing season, I didn't want it to end. Team wise, we made school history by making it past the 1st round of states. We beat Chesire for the first time in school history. We repeated as SWC Champs. =)
On a personal level, I did well. I learned that I need to work on my defense in the offseason. =)
Goals: 60
Assists: 9 (47 was way too much=))
Groundballs and Caused Turnovers: I didn't keep track
Draw Controls: Once again, I did not keep track. But, I know that I need to work on going after the ball more. There were times that I found myself watching the ball instead of chasing after it.
-I got 1st-Team All Conference
-In the SWC Game I was lucky enough to get MVP.
