TRELAX
03-03-2006, 08:14 PM
I had the best experience in forever and a day this evening after practice. It was 20 degrees, 2 degrees with the windchill, night practice, cold as hell. Game tomorrow, got a little acomplished. But afterwards I got changed and headed up stairs to the heated basketball gym. Found a practice goal, set it up in front of a cement wall and took shots for an hour.
Does anybody else still find it strangely soothing to just shoot or play wall ball all by yourself? I find that it is by far the best therapy, especially with the stress of a game the next day.
Rip a high pass off the wall and click some quick stick, practice crack shots, feeding to yourself, mental stuff, form. I think everybody needs a place like this.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Like after school somedays when I get a bad grade or something just isn't going right I'll go out and shoot and practice tricks and such and it kind of makes you forget about everything

lacrosse in general has always been my haven. whenever i had girlfriend problems or whatever, it is always nice to just go out to the field, forget about everything, and just play lacrosse. Lacrosse is just starting where I live (this is my 3rd year playing), so any chance i get to go outside, to the field, or w/e, is awesome.

I have to say lacrosse has been my solution to stress. Whenever I get frustrated with something/someone, I just go out to the backyard and start cranking shots. It's just something to take your mind off of something for a little while when you need it the most. Nothing like pinging a corner when you get a bad grade, have relationship problems, are your parents are acting like complete losers. Even after practice is fun. You can test out what you've learned at that days practice and sharpen up your own skills in the process.

yup, i know what you mean. playing wall ball or ripping on a goal is extremely theraputic for me. just playing in general makes me feel better. a couple days ago i had a lot on my mind and i was in a really bad mood all day and then i went to practice and it all went away, i felt great after that

Yea, when I play I forget about everything else. All there is is lacrosse. No problems, anger, or stress. Just lacrosse.

i always go out and wall ball it up or shoot when i just need to be alone or think. when i am especially in need of some alone time ill ride my bike to school and shoot over there and use those walls because sometimes the backyard just isnt far away enough.

I agree. I love shooting by myself. I just forget about everything else and focus on my shooting.
