View Full Version : Shaft for a Torque
infamous

Well tonight at practice I snapped my db803 in half. Basically it won't dent much, but it just snaps. It almost looks like someone just sawed it it in half. I'm not too happy with the shaft, since I've only had it about a month. This brings me to the question. Since I have a torque head, and its really light, what shaft would make a good balance? I want something stronger than the db803, much stronger, but not so heavy that the stick is unbalanced. Any help is much appreciated.

A Harrow. Field attack or a box. Maybe even a monster, but I doubt you need that mcuh tankishness

Box would be too heavy for a torque. My friend has a torque on an ibeam and it's really well balanced, but I'd check out the attack too.

First, maybe get another dB803 with the warranty. If you want to keep using it, fine. If you dont, sell it and use the money to help pay for a Scandium or Harrow.

I'm using a harrow field attack right now with my Torque because it's about 30 degrees out here, and the harrow tends not to change temperatures like a metal shaft, plus it's grippy so if my fingertips go numb I still have some grip....otherwise, it's an awful combination. The balance is terrible, but I'm willing to sacrifice that for these weather conditions.
Just try to get a light shaft. It works pretty well with Scandiums, C555 level metals, and possibly a c405 level shaft.
Scandiums have boasted the highest strength to weight ratio in lacrosse shafts for years. They're featherweights that still pack a punch. I would suggest going Scandium (STX Scandium that is...the Brine Scandiums are heavy and are only feature a small percentage of Scandium). Or, www.laxworld.com might still have deBeer c555 shafts for 40 bucks. They might be nice if you're used to debeer.

Does anyone have a titanium shaft on a torque? I'm thinkin if I can't trade for a scandium I might get like a ti22.

I use a liquidmetal on my torque but last night at our scrimmmage it almost snapped in half, there's this huge dent in it.....it sucks cuz i though the liquidmetal was supposed to be really strong

i actulayy use a F15. its perfectly balanced. i do have a pita on it though so that may contribute to the weight. either way it feels great, pretty light and strong as heck

When I used my torque, I put it on a howitzer/diamond. Most of the time it was on my diamond.

I used to, but than I switched to my f-15. Much more balanced now than it was with the titanium. It's a good shaft, but it just doesn't match the torque.

Light and strong are the usual descriptions of a Krypto Pro.

jesse and pasco. they gave us the C1 at the beginning and because everybody hated the strength of them we got what we wanted. We broke 22 C1's, 20 Ibeams 15 boxes, 1 goalie, 2 attacks. At the end we got howitzers and we broke 7. but then again this is box not field

try an f22 if you can find it or an ignite supra if not. Other good shafts are a liquidmetal, a klyte (although not much stronger), a harrow field attack, or STX scandium.

67 most definitley. thats like not even possible unless your team like bangs them against concrete benches everyday. that would involve like 3 breaking every practice probably. and harrow would never give you that many free shafts. sorry but i dont buy it. harrows are great.

I know he is lying. Since our junior team only brok 12 shafts. All field attacks. The guys with the box and howitzers had to try to break theirs at the end on the year for a new on the discount.
