Does anyone else get checked thumbs?

hey, i was just wondering: a lot of the time when my stick gets checked, the d-man's stick slides down and bangs me right on the top of the thumb, where my glove doesn't have any padding. Does this happen to any of you guys, and is there anything to do about it?

buy a goalie glove if that bothers you.

yea we got a kid on our team that uses the same goalie gloves as me and he's a middi, it probably happens to alot of people whether it is the thumb or any other part of the hand

yeah it happens to me sometimes. Still have a bruise/ blood clot thing on my thumb from a hit a few weeks ago. Goalie gloves is the only thing i can think of to stop this.

Not to much you can do about it if your playing any position it is going to happen - just going to have to suck it up and knuckle down. You could tape it up prior to playing but it might restrict mobility. I know I have seen a thumb protector add on you can get - sorry could not find the exact link but this gives a description.

When I did see one I thought it would be restrictive to any player but a box goalie.

The other option is be so good they can't check you or your thumb
