i know threads asking what is better are not allowed but i am not asking that in this thread. i just wanted to have some people compare the 2 so i can get a sense of which one to get. state some of their pros and cons. etc... and which one has more advantages. thanks

Razer Pro:
reletively light
a little flexible
perfect pinch that wont warp and become illegal, pinch also resembles a blade which allows for good ball control and a good catching area
havent used it enough to comment on durability but the second gens are supposed to be stronger

Evo Pro:
not as light as the Razer Pro
semi stiff
the pinch is heavy but the Evo pro is better described as having a small face
good durability
great scoop, similar to profile scoop big and beefy

Overall I think that these are great heads for attack and offensive minded middies, but I like the Razer Pro better for attack. Its also takes less effort to make a pocket that doesnt have alot of lip.

In a nutshell, you're asking for a more educated "which is better" thread. And once again, here we have problems with people enforcing their opinion over the facts. Let's look at what Hunter just said:

a little flexible
perfect pinch that wont warp and become illegal, pinch also resembles a blade which allows for good ball control and a good catching area
havent used it enough to comment on durability but the second gens are supposed to be stronger

Overall I think that these are great heads for attack and offensive minded middies, but I like the Razer Pro better for attack. Its also takes less effort to make a pocket that doesnt have alot of lip.

First of all, the Evo Pro is not heavier than the Razer Pro. They are both weighed in at 5.2 ounces.

Secondly, the pinch thing is completely opinion. I (like many others) find the Razer Pro's pinch far too wide for a high end head like that. It's very wide compared to other heads in the same price range, such as the Pulse, Truth, Proton Power, Evo Pro, Revo Pro, etc. So characterizing it as "perfect" would not be quite accurate.

Also, the reason the Evo Pro warps to illegality is not because of what most people call the "pinch". It's because the scoop of the head is too narrow, at 6.5 inches exactly. The Razer Pro is 6.75, so you do have some breathing room. However, when most people refer to the "pinch" of a head, they refer to more of the part of the head where the ball rests. That part of the Evo Pro is fine generally. In fact, I like the Evo Pro pinch much more, since it's much narrower than the very wide Razer Pro.

And even here, you can't exactly take my word for it, because what may be "very wide" to me may not be for you. There is no way to accurately classify each head's pinch unless you were to look at each head yourself.

If I'm not mistaken, they are exactly the same weight: 5.2 oz.

The razer pro was definately more stiff than the evo pro.

if you put the razer pro and the evo pro back to back... they line up exactally untill the razer pro is MORE... thats right... more pinched than the evo pro's up at the top... but hte evp pro gives a more pinched feeling and ball control because it doesnt flar as much... believe me i didnt believe my eyes at first eather... but i have both and ive compard several of them in the stores and ive gotten the same results. and I believe that the evo pro is a little stiffer thant the razrer pro... there scoops are similar but the razer pros scoop is steeper which means you dont have to get as low but it can cause some problems on thick grass... thats the only diffences i can think of... besides stringing holes... and i think there both a little tricky to string but if you know how do do the evo pro it makes a much nicer pocket... so in my opinion get the evo pro

Whether or not a stick has a "perfect pinch" is up for debate. a lot of what goes into head design involves player preferences. namely Mark Millon, Hubbard, and crew. certain heads are designed for certain playability preferences. some players prefer high pockets, quicker release, better hold, narrower heads, wider heads, etc....

what's perfect for someone may not be perfect to someone else. so to stomp someone's opinion about his opinion on a head is a little on the snobbish side.
