apparently, according to Jimmy Borell [defensive middie for maryland]'s father, Virginia will finally have enough high school lacrosse programs to have one big tournament or whatever you want to call it instead of two for different divisions. since there really isn't much about VA in here, this can be the Virginia thread. by the way, does anyone go to Cape Henry Collegiate or Norfolk Academy (im considering starting to save so i can pay tuition because i want to get noticed by colleges when i reach high school and my parents think i should just be like a walk on or something.)

Edit: Thanks for the name change mods. It was kinda confusing and i should have thought about it when i named it.

I play for St. Stephen's and St. Agnes.... I would imagine this would happen next year at the earliest. I think its a pretty good idea.

I have two friends who play for Christchurch and they said that they have a lot of big guys on defense who are doing pretty good but they're a fast team they said. Also, he said their goalie is in pretty rough shape.

we play christchurch Jv in a few weeks, were looking to serve

and shnikes, i took the test for NA in 6th grade and got in, but id recommend taking a tour to see if you like the school first

Im confused? What Division is he talking about? I know most schools in NOVA are AAA. My school is in the Northwestern Region.

You don't have to go to a private school to get recruited for lacrosse. I play for a club team and we go to enough tournaments and play plenty of top notch team to get quality looks. I mean we just beat coligate in a preseason scrimmage so we are not that bad. My advice would be play for the closest quality program to you.

nice, colligiate is an honorable mention in IL's high school lacrosse poll...and im glad you beat them, i think theyre pretty cocky. Cape Henry's like 10 min away form my school but they did lose some good players like Derek Melvin who is now at Brown and they scrimmaged McDonogh and lost 11-2, which isnt THAT bad and they didnt have their starting goalie

No he's still in highschool, Hampdeny-Sydney is where he's going to attend college.

True. The other day at practice we had a guy come out representing UVa, VMI, and Radford. (I play for a public school club team.)

im gonna have to figure out something to get in to NA or Cape henry. my parents don't have the money and they aren't willing to pay for the school even if they had the money. well, good luck to all of you on teams. im probably gonna be stuck in the hampton roads lacrosse high school league.
and 11-2...thats pretty bad. thats how much my team lost by in our first game on saturday.

Well which public school district are you in? Kellam, Cox, and Princess Anne all field teams. Private schools (well, NA and noco) are also teams that the hrlax league plays.

Do you know Jack DiCiero?

i have a couple of years (in 6th grade)im zoned for kellam but my mom wants me to apply to ocean lakes. i think that name "jack DiCiero" seems familiar, but i can't remember from where

Kellam is a first year team this year (we play them Thursday actually) but they should be OK by the time you'd get there.

You probably don't know him, I was thinking you were in like 8th grade. Jack plays for hrlax's U15 league and has been playing since 4th grade, I was thinking maybe you had played with him...obviously not.

I think I played with him. I've been playing since I was 7. Im 12 now so thats five years. If he played for South Beach then there is the chance that we played together for my first season.

What team are you on that plays Kellam? Is it another of the HRLax high school teams?

ya, he plays for maury, and NA varsity lost to Collegiate School in OT 11-10 in sudden death, it sucked and we were like #2 in VA

haha, well since theres not much posting in this thread, my nighthawks rec team is tied for 2nd w/ the yorktown team and we play them on sunday...so big game for rec and the # team is forfieting to us, so if we win well be in 1st

Yeah I play for Maury. That's pretty cool you were at the game, I saw you guys practicing a little before I left. I'm so sorry you have to practice on that field, it is horrible with all of those tire tracks and stuff. I couldn't believe it when I got there. However, I guess we're kinda spoiled with Powhatan field and even our other field at Ghent Elementary is actually pretty nice...or at least even.

We're 3-1 now. Cox beat us 10-2. It sucked too because we were winning/keeping with them until the half...then they just took a huge lead. Our defense actually played well, but our offense just couldn't keep the ball in their sticks. They were a really aggressive team (tons of pushing from behind went uncalled too,) there were almost about 4 fights. One would have probably been a big fight because it was like with 6 players on the field, and as soon as they started pushing we were about to rush onto the field but our coach ran out there first.

Do you remember what the kid looked like?

21 is Chris, he's pretty short. He's also pretty nice and I don't think he'd have been mean to you...was his jersey blue? Ours are blue/white. I'm #33, I'm the tallest person on my team and have red hair. I was also the last one out there because I took a long time to pack my back so you probably saw me. I didn't notice what numbers you guys had.

And yeah, that field was really small.

Maybe it was someone from Princess Anne. I'm not sure. I will probably see a couple more of your games ( at least one) because it intterupts with our practice. But thats cool. I made a comment about how he was a genius because he was like " dude, 12, we have a connection. I'm 21, you are 12. " and i was like " wow, thats pure genius right there." and yeah....

MeRAttack plays on Norfolk Academy's JV team. I'm not sure how their JV team is but I know their varsity team is awesome, our coach said we definitely wouldn't be playing them because it'd be a slaughter. I play for Maury.

there jv team sucks. i go to nansemond suffolk.. and i play on varsity but they dropped me down for the jv game and we beat them 5-3 but we should have beat them by a lot more.. but yeah their varsity team is pretty sick

in u-13 hrlax, my team is listed in dead last. our record including our scrimmage yesterday is 0-5-1. Yesterday, i intercepted the ball on defense, ran up the field and took a shot, but the goalie saved it. When the goalie went to clear the ball, he threw it right over my head so i snatched it down, passed it to one of the attackmen , and he scored. Assist #2 for me.

yea my team(st.xavier) came from louisville ky and play namsmond suffolk and norfolk academy

i was number 23(smaller kid-frosh) and faced off for any1 on those teams

we got raped by academy by like 12 but we definatley played ns pretty close

Our coach selected kids from our team to do the Summer Slam in Richmond and also the Fathers Day one. I was one of the ones chosen, and I'm really excited about doing the tournaments. What allstars are you talking about? I know our coach said that there was a possibility that hrlax was going to make an all star team for the richmond tournament..is that what you're talking about or is it something different?
