I was wondering how Shawnee Mission East was as a team? That was my old school, and pretty much it got big as soon as I left and moved to Wisconsin where I play now. But yeah.

Yes, the Senior All Star game is this Sunday in Columbia - any senior that made All-Conference is eligible to play. I'll be coaching the East team.

Ian and Louis are playing and there might be a "guest goalie" but we'll have to see if any Seniors show up to play. Last I heard, they were still looking for senior goalies to play.

Just a reminder to anyone coming to the game - it's at Cosmo Park in Columbia, not the turf field where we cooked last year. If you're a senior and coming to this game to watch - bring your equipment. Last year we threw some equipment on a kid from Clayton because we needed players. He wore Ladue shorts, a Hickman helmet and borrowed everything else from some kid in Columbia.

Speaking of the North-South-East-West.....For the third and final year (I've been told)STL will host the Annual HS Senior All-Star Showcase Classic. The best HS seniors in the USA will compete against each other pretty much all day on Sat. June 24th. Players enroute to D1, 2 and 3 programs this fall will be there. Just heard from my coach that MOLAX's player-participant is two-time MO A.A. Lonny Blumenthal of Lafayette. He's heading to Wesleyan Univ. in CT (went to the final four DIII). Look on USLacrosse.org for details and the list of all players from across the USA. Players heading to Syracuse, Princeton, MD, Army, Navy, Georgetown, VA, etc. will be playing. Two games in the morning (Soccer Park) and two in the afternoon (winners vs. winners 3pm, losers vs. losers at 1pm. I think our West team plays their morning game at 9am....Should be great. Our team and our youth group team are planning to attend..... What an opportunity to see great lax. Wear your STL lax stuff. RJ

If he is, he's the area "alternate"....only 1 "official" selection from an area. In the past, there has been several STL kids playing when the game was here in town...only because teams may be short at the last minute.

Kansas gets an All-American selection I believe - this is probably the kid who got it.

I thought there would be more kids from MO in this game - I thought it was open to more of the All-Americans.

mark form central the goalie is a beast, there are alot of kids form central that were really impressive

I agree that it is Desmets turn next year, Rock on the other hand is losing all 3 of its top scorers, its top Dman, its goalie, and some other notable seniors. Although they will be strong as always i do not think they will be state championship caliber.

desmet should be able to win it all, we still have 3 capably starting goalie a young but fast deffence, 3 senior attack, 6 senior middies and we still have good specialists

i go to kirkwood and we are only losing 3 seniors who occasionly started so we should be pretty good

i think you have to say de smet will win state. only losing 8 seniors, 3 or 4 of which really helped a big portion of the team. two defense who both made the team freshmen year, one was first team all conference as a junior. de smet has a 1st team all conference gonna-be seniors at all positions. i find it hard to believe if anyone picks any team to win state but de smet

reinberg and bell were good i wouldnt call them our go-to guys tho...we dont have a go-to guy this year either but we have a strong lineup with returning players at all positions besides defense

I honestly don't understand how Rockhurst isn't the favorite for next year. There is no doubt the Desmet will be right behind them but just look at it. Rock lost 3 all- americans and some studs at every position. Their offense and defense was unparalled last year and it is tough to replace that talented class. But they still have their leading scorer- it will be tough to continue scoring at the rate they did last year but what they have now is more than others, they will return their first 2 lines of midfield, and will have a talented physical defense. The only question with them is goalie. I can't see MICDS being as good as they have been, the underclassman didn't show much. I think Desmet will bounce back from an okay year. But Rock is 1 desmet is 2 and after that who knows. Probably MICDS bc they are well coached.
