well, i cross checked this one guy one time, and the other team was down 6-3 with 3 minutes left, and the ref gave the other team a point AND me a 1 minute penalty. the guy didn't even shoot.

In my league, your not allowed to take 3 or more steps when running up to check a guy. This one defender on our team got called for that almost every quarter.

I once got a penalty for being "too vicious."
I was playing middie in a JV game in middle school and I hit one kid's stick so hard i hurt his thumb which was 5 inches down the shaft.

the only good one I have to share is once in a game 3 years ago a player on my team leveled a kid right in front of the goal and our goalie got called for a 1 minute unsportsmanlike conduct for laughing at the kid and we had to put a different goalie in becuaser he had to serve it himself.

nothing too ridiculous. i mean, there are some strange ones, but i hate having to serve the goalies penalties. it makes you look like an ***.

i was playin D on the outside (long pole), and the kid runs at me, so i use my hands the bump him, and as he comes in, he jukes, and instead of my hands hitting him, i hit him with my shoulder, and my stick hit his facemask. i got called for a slash. he ran into it, i didnt hit him with it.

we were down one goal in the last minute of a game, and I bull dodged a guy, he fell on his butt, and I scored.. I got called for a ward, and the goal was taken away.. we lost the game.
of course it was a decent call, but what a situation to get a penalty

^^
I also had the cleanest wrap check IN THE WORLD! All stick, completely stripped this guy. THe ref was behind me and made the call.
I love it when the ref on the other side of the field makes the call, and the WRONG call. AKA, our game last night.

I bounced a guy off the crease once. Broke two of his ribs with my shoulder,
Ref called a slash. He was probably aware that I'd over played, but couldn't register the foul.
I felt real bad about the ribs so I sat my time, but I had my stick clutched to my tummy when I pegged him.

Sounds like a dumb move to me. If he had tossed you and you missed the remander of that game and the next game, it would have hardly been worth it.
From my coaching days...if it looked to me like it was intentional, I would have probably kicked you off the team for the rest of the year. If you were an otherwise perfect citizen, I probably would have sat you at least one game more than the league mandated...and when you finally were allowed to return to the field your cardiovascular fitness would have been much better than it was before your stupid penalty.
