Under the guidelines of the new rule....

A1 is in possession in the box when he is slashed by B1 causing the ball to fall to the ground where it remains in the box. What do you do? You might want to reread that part of the book before I explain the HUGE difference of opinion that came about this weekend.

Have to go to a game. I'll get back to this one later tonight.

Well, I re-read that section of the rules, and my feeling is that you have a FDSW and hold the whistle until GOODIE (and more likely cursing myself for blowing the whistle when I see the stick hit the helmet and the ball hit the ground - Doh!)
However, re-reading that rule did bring up something related to another post...

This is big paradigm shift. I was watching the Hopkins v. Princeton game this weekend. During a FDSW the players were looking at the offcials when the ball hit the ground...a couple of them stopped playing. Once they realized what was happening, the players continued after the ball and the whistle was blown at what seemed like the appropriate time.
