Well today at lacrosse practice I broke my head in three places and it was completely destroyed. It isn't even that cold but I guess it might've had something to do with it. I am the goalie and my coach found an old goalie stick that I could use until i get my stick back, but how cold does it have to be outside for it to affect the durability of a head (nemesis)? I live on Long Island and it's like 45 degrees out and should keep getting warmer this week. Also the head was kinda old, but I'm just wondering if I should finish off this week with the crappy backup stick to prevent breaking my head again.

Yeah, today was my first practice too (I'm out here on Long Island too). I was sweating! No one's heads broke today, so I don't know how yours broke. Maybe it wasn't the weather. Old maybe it was old. I don't know.

i play in FL, and i was watching a club game and a goalie broke two sticks in one game from shots... It just happens, cold can effect it, but it was probably cause it is old, I have a nemisis and it is probly only one hard shot away from breaking

I think it was more of the way the ball hit the head of the stick b/c i am from mass and we had practice one night were the temp was below zero and no ones heads broke not even the goalies, hands were frozen but thats it. Love mass weather who needs snow when it is -5 with the wind chill?

Yea it was a whip shot that rose to about my waist level and my stick was low and I swung it up and smashed my sidewall into the ball causing even more harm than would've happened if the ball just hit it dead on.
