im trying to go to the wall on weekdays more often, but i dont have a lot of time, so im trying to find the most productive routine. i usually just do a bunch of throw right catch right and throw left catch left. whats the best routine i can do to maximize my time while getting my stick skills significantly better?

tape a target on the wall and try to hit that everytime and move around as your doing it.

I'd do the target thing, then step back a little bit and throw right catch left, then throw left catch right. It helps work on switching hands and your weak hand

I could name a million things to do, but the most effective single wall ball exercise is to throw the ball one handed..

i like to throw in my right hand so that the ball bounces back to my left side and i have to make a catch across my body, it really works on your catching of bad passes. you can do those offside high and low. I agree with wheelax completely throwing one handed is very good. Or another thing that is fun is to find a wall near you that has some intense texture to it and try to throw against that. If the texture is big enough it will send the ball on some pretty wicked bounces back and it really helps work on your hand eye and ability to react to any pass coming your way.

I think I've posted a million wall ball routines and I've talked about them ad nauseam, but here goes...

50 throw and catch right without dropping the ball (if you drop, start all over)
50 throw and catch left " " """ """""
25 throw right catch left
25 throw left catch right
25 quick sticks right
25 quick sticks left
25 throw and catch right one handed
25 throw and catch left one handed
25 each hand bounce .. (stand further back from the wall, throw the ball to the wall, and let it bounce back to you)

then 25 each behind the back

push yourself through the whole "routine" if you drop the ball, start all over, and keep a good pace up.. don't practice lazy

I just usually do;
50 right
50 left
20 1 hand right
20 1 hand left
Then I reapeat that about 3 times or so, Ith depend on how much time I have
Then I trhow on the run for a while and when i need to rest I do 20 1 handed throws or quick sticks

it seems to work pretty good

one thing to try that makes catching exponentially more natural is one stick in each hand with two balls, it's close to impossible to do without dropping, but you stick at it and catching one ball with two hands on the stick becomes second nature

I play wall ball a lot and i usually do 100 switching hands then 100 on my left hand, weak hand, hand 100 with my right hand, strong hand totaling 300. If i drop or throw a bad pass i start over from 0. Hint; listen to your ipod while playing it makes it go quicker and makes it a little less boring.

stand square to the wall, and switch hands while the ball is in mid-air. it's pretty tough and you may have to stand close to the wall at first.

that is basically it you just throw it against the wall and catch and if you do that enough you will get good and one thing you can do is make a square and try and get the ball in the square every time

wait how do u guys get the ball to bounce straight to you, like i do passes, hit my target, but the ball after it hits the wall doesnt haven enough to come back to me, so it hits the ground bounces to me. How far off the wall are u from it when u just catch and throw straight and back.

how do you practice quicksticking on a wall? do u just throw it again the second you catch it? i cant seem to keep it going because i lose control after the first few. not sure if i just need to work at it or if im doing it wrong.

I do that exact same thing except the behind the back. But the thing with it is you need to be honest with yourself and don't make up bs :bull:

For your one handed throws do you normally just hold you hand about middle of the stick or what?

For wallball it is really just personal preferance. Usually the more times you throw the ball the better. I do:

200 catch right,throw left
200 catch left, throw right
150 right
150 left
50 more right (weak hand)
10 quick stick right
10 quick stick left
25 quick stick right
25 quick stick left
50 quick stick right
50 quick stick left
100 one handed right
100 one handed left
20 catch right, throw left(& visa-versa)

**Sometimes when I don't feel like counting I do each for two songs at a time. It is a lot easier that way for me.

I Put a target in the wall and....

30 1 handed both hands
100 Right
100 left
Then 50-150 more right
Double whatever i did right with left hand(weak hand)

Should goalies make any extra changes to their wallball routine? I know throwing and stick handling are still important, but are there any extra drills goalies should do during wallball (without an extra person)?

Anyting is good as long as you actually do it consistently.
