okay so heres the deal... whenever im confident i feel like i can beat most defenders and i feel good dodging and shooting and stuff, but once i make one bad play or something, then i get totally unconfident and loose my composure and get frustrated and i cant catch or throw or do anything and i completely get off my game and i completely suck, so i get mad and the problem only gets worse as the game goes on because i get into a bad mood and the coaches think i get a bad attitude so does anyone know anything i can do to deal with this

erase your memory..
you have to find a way to channel those negative thoughts..
the brain tends to get in the way of the body... top tier players do what they do because it's all instinct. they have trained their bodies to act and react in certain situations.. they just develop game instinct...
try searching for websites dealing with mental prepartation, and sports psychology..

highjacking the thread....
i get the same way only on d. im a pretty big guy and am usually the one doin the pushing around, but then i might get knockeddown or hit once and then im all shy and kind of..... afraid(for the lack or a better word) of the guy who hit me. i try to shake it off, but then it jusy gets in my head. and my best games are against teams where im totally aggressive. and not shy at all, when i feel that i could take anyone on the field.
any tips on how to shake off a big hit mentally?

Get pissed off. I understand it's hard but think of something that pisses you off more than antyhing. If it's being the big guy on the field and getting knocked to the ground by some little wuss attackman, use it. Lacrosse is one of those sports where you need to stay as focused as you can and, in my opinion, if you're going to allow yourself to get emotional, have that emotion be anger.
i try but i find myself almmost getting penalties. :bull: its hard to control anger. but yeah. that does help. but then there are tose guys that for somereason, u just cant move. thats more annoying than anything.

Ohhh i have the same problem. But its also the fact that i think that everyone else is thinking that i am bad, after i make a mistake. So since everyone is looking down on me, im scared of making a mistake, i try to become invisible, avoiding the ball, the play... Its bad. It usually goes away after a break though, like half time, subsitution, a time out, or when if i do something good.

i try to not think of it when we sub but i feel liek the reason i get taken out is because i was bad so i get more frustrated and i cant control my emotions once i get frustrated for some reason

i have the same problem, what helps for me is just taking a break for a second when i dont have the ball, taking a couple of deep breaths and reminding myself that its a game and its all for fun, i just keep repeating that i play lacrosse because i enjoy it, and that usually relaxes me, makes me less tense, and puts me in the right mindset to keep playing.
