I'm a righty. Catching and quick sticking isn't a problem with my left, but longer passes and any type of precision with the left hand is far from perfect, but it never really comes up in the game much for me anymore.

there seems to be an overabundance of lefties in the box leagues in Canada.. maybe it's just me, or maybe I was hungover, but it seems so

I am lefty and proud of it. I'm doing a research paper of Lefthandedness this tri. I have done some reserach so far and in some cases, people that are left handed have strong or my visual brains, because when they learn they try to copy everything and involves more visualization and what not....but I am still researching and that is just a theory from some guy.

Definately right handed. I can go left, but I can't quick stick. pretty much decent in all other areas of left handedness. Wierd thought though. I write right handed, but my left hand is equally as legible as my right. Maybe it is the fact that I have probably the worst hand writing on here

cradled with my left... but there really isn't a difference between my two hands now.. I doubt anyone watching would be able to figure out which is my dominant
...

I shoot equally fast with each, cradle the same, and pass the same..

of course in box, I primarily play lefty cause you're really not supposed to switch, but I will shoot and cradle righty as I need to..

Need Help!

Not trying to hijack the thread, this is what the search gave me...

New to the game as a player, working hard, legitimately ambidextrous handball player, natural right hand, play hockey (30 years) lefty...I try to use either hand in rec league lax games, whatever the play calls for, to force myself to get better with the weak left hand, but there's this situation that keeps coming up...

In a defensive posture, I find myself presenting lefty to block sticks with a right handed thrower. As my stick ability with my left hand is decidedly weak, am I dumb, ignorant, or is this a legitimate way to challenge a defender. Or should I just challenge him holding my own stick right handed, and do the best I can to impede him?

I need to go get some books and/or videos on correct defensive technique, but golly, it is so easy just to ask you guys...this is the coolest message forum I have ever seen...

please advise.

Why even have a poll? Right-handed-ness is obvious the majority of all people, but I guess its interesting to get some numbers. I'm personally right handed, but I have had a good left since I was 11.(now 15) I prefer going right but strangely the majority of my goals this season have come left handed. I just hate seeing college level players being afraid to go to their weak side, because it should have been fixed a long time ago. I just came back from the Army/Navy game and Army lost by 1 because the last chance they had the guy refused to go left, he too the shot, from inside, with lots of pressure, and missed, when a lefty shot would have given him room to wind up and aim.

Right-handed in every aspect of my life aside from lax and hockey in which I'm a lefty. Supposedly, it's natural for your dominant writing hand to be atop your hockey stick (right hand at top of left stick) since all stickhandling comes from the top hand, thus this translated well to lax. Do you guys think being lefty in lax is that advantageous (like pitchers in baseball)?

I'm a southpaw in everything...writing, eating, throwing, batting (yes, I used to play baseball), sparring (when I took karate)...The only thing that I am right hand dominant is shooting, but I think this is because I am right eye dominant (I am about 95% as good shooting from my left hand though). Thus, in lacrosse, I am lefty (carrying a stick left handed is the same as carrying a rifle right handed). I am easily a better shot with my left hand, and I have a very slight edge in passing in my left. However, I am pretty much equal cradling with both hands.
