Hi, does anyone have any tips on improving defensive skills alone, outside of practice. I mean, players who want to work on stick work and catching/throwing can do so with a wall on their own, but are their any good ways to practice defending and forcing(even when there is no one to actually defend)?

if you cant grab at least one buddy to work on his offense against you then the other things you can do is work on footwork...
you can do the standard drills...you can even use some new drills that focus on footspeed...
the only other thing would be to have a good imagination...meaning imagine your attackman and his moves and you then practice how you would defend it...
personally i save that for practice and games...when i work alone i just work on footwork speed that way when practice comes i dont have to think about it...it comes naturally...i then can focus on the mental part of playing d

Sprints, foot work drills (like with those ladders), slides with and without your stick. Like stegmakk said, get a buddy & play with her.
