Are there any seniors playing JV. I played freshman year then did golf for two years and now am playing lacrosse as a senior. So far i think my coach is planning on putting me on defense on JV. I absolutely love the sport but am not sure whether i want to play JV. Pretty degrading. If you were in my position what would you do? Quit or stay?

I dont know about the school rules you have, but Im pretty sure you automatically get a varsity letter as a senior. You might not play on varsity, but youll be on the team. My school doesnt allow seniors to play on JV sports

How good are you at golf and how much do you like it? If you like it at all, just stick with it. Not to be discouraging, but if you like Lacrosse that much, why did you golf for two years rather than play?

In my league if you're a senior you have to make Varsity or you have to get cut. You can't play JV.

Who me? I'm from Brookfield. Maybe it's different for the SWC, but I might be wrong, considering we never had that many seniors every year.

Golf's a spring sport for our school, so I guess it's different all around. I'd be stuck as well. That'd stink to play on JV as a senior. I guess it just all depends on how badly you want to play.

Nah i live in Pennsylvania. Ive played golf during my sophmore and junior year because i was injured and it was an easy sport to play. Yea i absolutely love lacrosse and played in this fall league, my stick skills are actually pretty good. Its just that my field sense is kind of sloppy. I need to learn to read plays and players. Im a middie.

There's a couple seniors from Stoughton, WI who are going to be on JV. Just because it's their first year and they aren't the most expieranced. One of them is okay.. but the other just blows.

Im and senior and start at goalie for my varsity team. but my coach told me that ill probably have to run some middie for the jv team. i love playing so it doesnt really matter to me. if u love to play u shouldnt care what level u play just so u get to play.

Is it possible for you to move up mid season? Work hard now, talk to the coaches, and prove yourself.

Ya i'd do as zak said..just try hard....im not sure if this will make any sense but field sense is somethign you just have to relax & let it come to you....you can work on stuff like that throughout everyday also..throughout the day just relax & tkae in everything aroudn you...people you pass..what they wear....who they're with....then when you get on the field make a note to where everyone is...make a note to where you are in position to goal & other players....we have a few first yr seniors playing, & they're trying hard...would be excellent JV players..definitley not so good varsity & he has a really hard time letting them play JV so normally he waits til we're up a few on varsity & then they go in

It really sucks when it's your senior year of high school and your school decides to start up a lax program. And on top of that, NJ's gay rules saying that first-year programs have to start out with JV only.

Yeah, that's the position i'm in.

oh well, it'll still be fun.

Juniors and Seniors have to play varsity at my school. As a sophmore, this really bothers me. You get these guys, senior year, that come out for the first time--and have to be on varsity. Thats why our varsity always sucks, and JV is good.

SAME and it pisses me off because there is a senior that is TERRIBLE on my team this year!

But..I would play. If you want to play, then play..don't worry about what team you are on..just have fun :)
