D/O middies only?

At my school we have Defense/Attack/O middy/D middy... theres no middy that plays both ways, just transition and their name... Is this the case in most/any other high schools? i find it kinda weird, but im new to lacrosse so i just wanna see how everyone elses school does it.

more advanced teams will have specific middies and it helps to distinguish from the two because i would MUCH rather have my D middies on D then just anyone
