I was snowboarding at my local resort and i took a bad fall off a jump and landed on my colar bone/shoulder. I didnt break anything but i cant raise my left arm past halfway. My dad said its a torn legiment since its so painful and I'll need surgery on it and with that I'd miss all or most of the season & that made me so mad It almost brought tears to my eyes. I'm going to see the doctor soon and im hopeing that its a bruised shoulder and im only out for 2-3 weeks.
All this said, Have any of you guys(probably alot) pulled or torn a legiment and how long did it take to heal? Did you need surgery? And how did it happen?

I am pretty sure i had a tear in my ankle but it could have been a really bad pull. I was on crutches for three days and i couldnt play sports for 2 weeks. Then less then a year later I broke my other foot and tore some ligaments in that foot. I was on crutches for six weeks and wasnt %100 for at least 2 months. Good luck with your injury!

I had one a few years ago during football, also in my shoulder. I went to acupuncture and was still able to play through out the entire season. I took about 2 trips the first week, and then 1 trip every 2 weeks after that. It works wonders.

My brother tore a ligament (tendon, maybe? I think it's a ligament, though) when he was walking upstairs to go to bed. He's out for a few more weeks, and he's on a walking boot and crutches. So at least you busted yourself up doing something ... honorable, for lack of a better term. Not half-sleepwalking, haha.

this sounds more serious then mine but i've torn many muscles...dunno if they're related much or not..i actually toe my oblique & one in my shoulder just recently in a nasghty scuffle of a scrimage...oblique doesnt bother me much cept a bit when i run so i dont bother with it but the hsoudler one bugs me so i had it checked out & i was just told to ice it as much as possible & rest as much as possible
(the trainers at my school have stopped even trying to tell me i need to take 2 or 3 weeks off for these petty injuries because they know there's no way im missing a game for something as little as that...so they give me my ice, pass me the ibuprofein under the table(sp?) & let me go about my day :nahya: )
