does anyone find faking a roll dodge, then making off in the other direction.

i was even thinking of faking twice, then running off.

does anyone actually do this in the game, or tried it?

i do it when im in that situation of a ground ball when im boxing out against a kid and he's just trying to push, if he is stronger then me, i fake to the left then to the right, most of the time they'll fall and i can get the ball.

if i had read this earlier i woulda tried it today :(
it doesnt sound bad, might force a slash if the d it aggresive
i wanna try it, i bet its been done a lot
EDIT
 wow i just realized i did that today i didnt read the other guys above me
i saw the guy going around me on a ground ball cuz he was smaller and didnt want to fight for it
and i totally picked it up faked the way he was and ran around him, then like ran the whole field it was a fun/tiring play

I think that's called a rocker dodge. You probably don't want to fake twice, dodges work best when its just one move and explosion.

i had it in mind to sort of confuse the d-man

maybe, i could fake, pretend to have an explosion for like 3 steps, then roll again?

I thought it was called a bull-dodge...kind of like a hesitation/stutter-step? Not sure.

I'm pretty sure bull dodge is when you run through the guy in front of you, not much of a dodge but it works when the defender is smaller than you.

No it's a rocker dodge. You do a half roll dodge by throwing your head and shoulder out a bit and then double back in the other direction.

Works very well. Even as a dpole :)

Faking anything twice in a row isn't gonna do anything but get you leveled...this isn't basketball.

Anyways yes what you're talking about is techinically a rocker dodge, although they work best when you roll back the other way. An ideal rocker is when you spin so that you are backwards, fake the roll and hang your stick a little bit as bait, ant then roll the other way.

Next time you have a question about dodges, feel free to PM me or post it on the dodges sticky, since most threads like this end up being completely useless.

rocker dodges are really effective if you do them right. it's really effective if you have rolled the defender a few times before and hanging the stick is also a good idea if you do it correctly

I do it sometimes, but after the fake acceleration / burst is crucial..

I used to do it, until I found out that it was more of a lame excuse to stay with your strong hand. but I might to it ocaisionally

What if you fake the roll to your dominant hand though? Then it's not.

Ya the rocker dodge, does work, but not all the time you have to mix it up, its mostly for crease/X attackmen.

The bull dodge is when you tuck your stuck and run through the guy ahead of you, kinda like a football truck.

yea its definitely a rocker like most people have stated, timing and explosion is critical to get it right though otherwise you end up over exposing your stick and losing the ball i usually just stick to the full roll dodge

you could try faking the half roll faking the pass over the shoulder and then maybe rolling around him but the D man would have to bite pretty hard on the fake

definitly dont fake a roll twice in the same dodge. ull become readable. and it wont work the second time and itll look bad, its called a rocker dodge, but time it perfectly like maki maki said.

yea one of the best attack men on my team uses the rocker dodge all the time, and usually it works. you have to be rlly quick tho cause you have to stay ahead of the d after you get past them. i play d and i know that i usually bite when i see him going one way with his stick showing a bit to much for his own good. then i usually try an over the head or slash or wrap check which i can usually get him quick enough, but when the attack times it right they can roll of the d mans body and evn give a little push off of them for exceleration and to slow the d. its a tricky little move and works great for the x man when goin one on one with a dpole

rocker STEP, is a good dodge to get a pass or a shot of quick, I like to do it after a split dodge because it slows tempo and the d-man is already anxious and a little out of position
