What position does he want to play?
I'm assuming hes using a short stick
just play catch with him a lot, practice also around the back passes, catching em (You know, you're running and you catch the ball as its thrown to your back)

i recently tried tot each a friend how to play. The best way is at first just get the basics throwing and catching down. If you start off with coplicated stuff it gets confusing or at least it did for my friend. and take it easy on him if it takes a while to get the hang of things, cause you can probably catch a pass in your sleep while for some beginers it takes a while to even stop running away from the ball when you pass it
doesn't mean uncle pete does i just mean some people
