While i'm playing offense, i have a tendency to only see what i'm looking directly at. My "tunnel-vision" is preventing me from seeing plays emerge, looking for cutters, and gaining control of any tight situation. Is there anything that can help me relax and see the whole picture? I've heard about people taping their facemasks, but does this really work, and if it does, how do you do it?

Taping facemasks? Ive never heard of that.
First off do you play attack or middie?
Second off do you just look at your defender and try to see how you can go past him. That could be your downfall. When you have the ball take it behind or up top and move back a little way from your defender and scan the field for where everybody is.
Also when you are dodging keep your head up and look for any cutters(since this is the best time to cut) if there are none and you have a double team draw the ball back out and pass it off. If there is not another defender however go to the goal.
