the season of our lacrosse hasnt been posponed per say but we had a ton of snow. and i was just wondering what is it for good shot selection because i see like joe walter shoot from no angle and score and other people just have the whole net and then they are called bad shooters cause of their shot selection. Just wondering
peace

edit: i understand that joe walters is one of the best lacrosse players and compared to a high school player the difference is immeasureable. Im just saying that when is the most opportune time to take the shot and where to take it from like is it ok to take some tough angle shots if so when. etc. I hope that cleared it up. And by the bad shot selection it was the announcers on CSTV saying that Loyola was not making dukes goalie move enough even though their shots looked good but the goalie just saved them.

What do you mean? Are you asking when to take certain shots or which ones are best?

well joe walters is a D1 player after all and if your comparing his shot selection to regular high school players there is really no comparison

i dont really understand the question but you should be looking to shoot overhand most of the time especially if your one on one with the goalie and save the sidearm and underhand shots for when you need to surprise the goalie maybe the behind the back shot to increase your angle

hmm maybe there called bad shooters because there one on one with the goalie and trying to shoot sidearm that'd be a good one too

hope that helps

I think what you mean is where to shoot on the Goalie, from far away I say most people would shoot low ar take a bounce shot. In close I look for what hand the Goalie is (Left or Right). If he is Right handed then I would generally shoot to his left or vise versa. Sometimes shooting short side is a good option too.

the hardest spot for a right handed goalie to save is HIS left hip, which is mid right for attackmen. i reckon the best shot is that and i practice it tonnes. also between the legs/right into his balls work well.

after there is a reason why a goalie should always be wearing a box

shooting on the run and shooting across the where the goalie is shifting.
you are dominant right handed so you sweep to the right you aim at the bottom left.
tough shot to save.
