whats a common "everyday" high protein food. I don't want any of that supplemental crap, just real food.

Chicken breast, lean beef, eggs.

Whats wrong with protein drinks? Low in calories high in protein.

Chicken is very high in protein. Fish is also good because it has many essential fats.

fish, peanut butter, chicken , pork, beef you gotta cook the meat right and take out the fats tho, milk and most dairy products, and EGG WHITES like Xeclipse stated yolks give you like 79% of the daily cholesterol you need which isnt altogether healthy, o yea and the breads with high protein i think your supposed to avoid wonder bread tho

man, your poisoning your body! Every medic will tell you that you shouldn't eat more than 2-3 eggs a week. Peanut butter is full of saturated fatty acid, also bad. a sandwich bread with peanut butter full of "bad" fat and sugar.
eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, especially beans and corn (high protein). DO NOT think that an extreme diet gives a normal body an extrem result!

If you want a meal replacement bar, I used NitroTech bars. They're about 30 bucks a box @ GNC. I ate those after wrestling practice to help keep my strength up and my weight down.

And added crap with eggs and peanut butter? WTF are you talking about Torch?

lol i love how everyone thinks fat is a bad thing. Fat has more energy in it than protein and carbs and basically everything else u can think of. it only becomes a problem once u start not burning it off. as long as u stay active and use all the energy and fat you can basically eat the foods that have fat in them and are high in protein(like peanut butter).

You're giving out flawed advice. True, saturated fatty acids are not good for you, but they are not found in large quantities in peanut butter or eggs (eggs only contain about 1.5g of saturated fat). Good quality eggs (as well as nuts like almonds, cashews, etc.) contain lots of unsaturated fatty acids (Omega-3's), which are good fats, and you need those. Peanut butter is relatively low in saturated fat and sugar, most brands have no trans fats whatsoever, and it contains lots of protein. The bread is probably far worse unless you eat whole grain bread (not the Wonder crap.)

And the opinion on eggs has changed in recent years. Eggs, once thought to contribute to high cholesterol, have not been proven to really elevate your blood cholesterol. In fact, no strong link has been found between dietary cholesterol and blood cholesterol. Eggs are full of protein, omega-3's and vitamins, and as such are very good food for athletes.

Again, it depends on the kind of fats you eat. Unsaturated fats your body needs, and these are good fats. Saturated and trans fats have been proven to elevate blood cholesterol levels and contribute to other health problems like coronary artery disease, diabetes, etc. so they are prety much undesirable.

Peanut butter doesn't have much saturated fat, and contains no trans fats, but it is high in unsaturated fats. So, it's pretty damn close to the perfect food.

All in all, though, you still have to match calories in with calories out if you want to maintain weight. To gain weight, you need to eat more than you're burning.
