For those of you who are familiar with military hardware, I want to know what you think is the sickest weapon (rifle plane, vehicle, etc.) out there. My vote is for the minigun.

oh dont even get me goin on my weapons.

im a loser, but i like a custom winchester .243 for hunting... preferably lever action. for armed forces, i like ak 47s. they have very good ammo capacity, are reliable, and fires quickly. a 7.63 millimeter minigun also does the job, considering 50 shots from it is suffiecient to cut through a van. but you really cant beat a good ol' abrams tank. big boom= lots of fun

A glock 18C, because they're fully automatic machine pistols that are made with plastic, plus they shoot underwater or filled with sand. that's just my opinion though.
Steyr AUG's are pretty sly, so are FAMAS's.
When it comes to sheer power and heavy weaponry, I think my favorite would be a railgun (http://www.railgun.org/), i'd definately take one of those over a tank.

I've been a long time pistol fan ( I used to teach martial arts out of the back room of a gun range). Glocks are alright, no complaints, but I always saw myself as a Sig Sauer P226 guy (and one of these days, the the gov't stops taking most of my money maybe I'll finally get one). I also like FN's Five seveN, ever since I saw it in the first Splinter Cell game. Designed to be used with 5.7 ammo so our police and feds no longer have to worry about criminals with kevlar!

Several other weapons come to mind for the ground war: the FN P90 (ambidextrouse, ergonomic compact submachine gun fun) the FN SCAR (you GR players should be familiar with it, a very versatile ar), the M249 SAW, the H&K G3A4 ( I just happen to like it, it's nothing special) as well as some more...

Speaking of which, anyone here played BLACK for PS2/XBOX?

As for vehicles of destruction, I was a HUGE Top Gun fan as a kid so I love the F14 ( I still have the G.I. Joe toy somewhere in my folks basement) but other than that it's all good. The A10 is pretty cool, I used to go camping in the panhandle of MD and used to always see them do flyovers. Ugly as sin but I still wouldn't want to be on its business end.

odd this thread should show up, we were chatting about this the other day at practice. Personally, i think melee weapons like swords and stuff would kick *** to fight with, like in the good ol' days. Imagine someone jumping you with Num-chucks (sp?)...you'd never expect it. Also, here's a question that one of our crazier mids wants to do. We have this attackman whose on the chubby side, and someone wants to shoot him with a shotgun (12 guage, with a regular shell) from 50 yards away. :guns: think it would kill him? half the team says yes, the other half says no because the little bb's wouldnt penetrate his body very deeply. We're not actually going to do this, but we're all curious.

It makes me sick how Americans have such a fascination with guns and violence. I dont know man... It just gets me angry. Am I the only one out there that feels the same way?

Old fashioned, but very cool sounding weapons are the ones based on the Gatling Gun system (like the Vulcan)....they sound like VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVT

The M2 .50 cal machinegun also sounds cool: duhduhduhduhduhduhduh

But, if I wanted to take out a big target from a distance, I'd go with the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) ...which also makes a cool sound...and the Tomahawk Cruise Missile for a precision target.

To make a big noise and rock the ground a good distance away, a self-propelled 8 inch howitzer with high explosive rounds does the job.

The 120 mm smootbore used on M1A2s and Leopard 2s are nice for a couple km out.

25 mm chainguns, MK-19 40 mm grenade machineguns, and others are nice, too.

Really close range? I'd go with a riot shotgun.

As a Martial Arts enthusiust, I have to say either a Katana, or even more ideally the shorter Wakizashi. but over both of them I'd have to take my Bokken, a wooden sword, its so solid. Heres a nice little article

WEAPON: BOKKEN

DESCRIPTION:
A bokken is a wooden sword usually used for sword training. When a student begins to work with a sword, he learns basic maneuvers with a bokken. However, the bokken can also be used as an effective weapon since it is made of strong, heavy wood. In fact, many Ninja preferred to use the bokken on a mission than a regular sword.

The reasons for this are that a bokken is lighter and easier to carry, there is no risk of cutting oneself, bokken are very easy to camouflage since they can be stained or painted, and, when using proper techniques, a bokken can easily break bones and damage internal organs.

I think the MX Peacekeeper ICBM takes this one boys. I mean, from the time someone crazy enough to fire one gives the command, someone poor fellow in a target city half the world away literally has 20 minutes left before the re-entry vehicle vaporizes him and everything else within a 10 mile radius.

Oh yeah. Even if he got in his car and booked out of town the moment the missle left the silo, the shockwave from that beast would still pick him off.

this was on Future Weapons. its a single missile that can be dropped by a fighter jet from up to 40,000 feet high and 10 miles away from the target. just so ya know, if a plane is 40,000 feet high, you wont even be able to see it. the bomb sheds its shell like a banana, and inside is 10 canisters that have parachutes that stable themselves out in the air. once stabalized, they shed that skin, and inside each one are 4 balls. each ball spins around, taking infrared readings of their whole surroundings. now you have 40 balls flying through the sky, spinning around. once they find their target (a tank) it shoots molten copper into the most sensitive part of the tank, the very top. the copper shoots through the metal and destroys everything on the inside, making the tank now a useless pile of bulletproof steel.

they did a test on the show, and they had 37 tanks all spread out over a 100 acre field. within 10 seconds, all of them were smoking and unable to move or perform anything.

An AR10A4 with a collapsable, M4 style stock, a 417-style upper reciever, 20 inch medium weight barrel with a Leupold 3-10x illuminated reticule scope for DM work. The Bradley Assault Vehicle is pretty deadly, and I handled one of those .50 cal snipers in DC at the "Military Appreciation" week last spring. Pretty beast and really heavy.

But MOAB :worship: , no joke. Massive Ordanance Air Blast. Not "MOTHER OF ALL BOMBS" thats just ig'nant. Biggest conventional non-nuclear explosion in the world, laser guided, flys itself right on target, and suprsingly maximum damage for a blast is 3ft. off the ground. Timed with rods that stick out the front of the weapon.

Israel also developed a rifle called the "Tavor" fires just as fast as a M-16 or M-4 but is a lot shorter due to "bull-pup" design (magazine at rear of weapon) so it has a longer barrel that is mostly internal giving it more accuracy with a shorter external barrel. But unfortunately it's not rapidly ambidexterous, parts have to be switched around. It's still sick though. :agree:

The STG 77 is the most incredible assault rifle on this planet.
My favorite gun that I've actually shot would be an MP5, that was fun.
Im assuming you play socom? They are both guns used in socom =P

My favorite would be the m16. Who doesn't like the classic guns from wwII that are still used today?

Of all the weapons in the vast soviet arsenal, nothing was more profitable than Avtomat Kalashnikova model of 1947. More commonly known as the AK-47, or Kalashnikov. It's the world's most popular assault rifle. A weapon all fighters love. An elegantly simple 9 pound amalgamation of forged steel and plywood. It doesn't break, jam, or overheat. It'll shoot whether it's covered in mud or filled with sand. It's so easy, even a child can use it; and they do. The Soviets put the gun on a coin. Mozambique put it on their flag. Since the end of the Cold War, the Kalashnikov has become the Russian people's greatest export. After that comes vodka, caviar, and suicidal novelists. One thing is for sure, no one was lining up to buy their cars.

The M.O.A.B., or mother of all bombs. Check out Future Weapons to see what it is. It is a bomb that can take out a whole tank unit and then some with smart technology. But it will soon be overtaken by the future harriers. The army is currently working on three types one of which is Stealth and carries a MOAB.(a harrier is a plane with a vertical take off like the hydra from San Andreas)

If you are reffering to what I said, then you are completely wrong. If somebody nuked us we would be able to nuke them back 3-fold. On the other hand, If somebody dropped an E-bomb on us at the right spot It would completely fry anything electronic from Los Angeles to NYC. That includes computers, tvs, most cars, anything that has a microchip. They would not have to kill us, because we are useless without our technolegy, and would be completely ruined because we would have to replace all of that stuff got fried, which would cost a us money out of the wazoo.

His point is, the country as a whole would be completely screwed over if one were set off. But a smallpox attack would be even more devastating. If the virus was genetically modified, (which is apparently very easy to do) the death toll could reach upwards of 90% of the country's population.

Now for my favorite gun.... ummmm probably the H&K M7a1. its just kinda cool knowing that this gun could puncture heavy body armor from long ranges, yet is slightly larger than a pistol.

the M-16 isn't from WWII, Korea, so it's old but not that old.

The protypes were introduced in Korea but its not the same thing they used in vietnam or what they used today. It looks the same but its not. I believe (correct me if im wrong) but the AR-15's were introduced first. There almost the same gun but not capiable of going fully automatic. (btw the m-14 pwns the 16 anyday anywhere anytime)

Its like the AK. The ones they use today are not the same rifle as the orginal ak-47.

they're not the same because the original AK-47 was made in 1947, rarely if ever does something made in '47 go long without being improved or changed. I forget what the AK stands for

laxplayer201092
10-04-2006, 09:34 PM
it stands for avtomont kalshnikov, not sur how you spell the first part, but it stands for the factory they were produced in, and the guys name who made em, and the m 16's were first produced in vietnam, not korea, the firt model was the ar10 tho, but it generally sucked, and the ar15 was derived from that.
