collarbones tend to heal quickly if you rehab correctly. that means don't be stupid when you're in the sling.

I'm pretty sure thats your social security number and stuff. Just an FYI, you might want to edit it out.
On topic, that looks pretty bad. I dont think you'll play this season. Take it easy on it, let it heal. Thats how it will happen fastest

that looks like 6-8 weeks till the bone is almost healed. i snapped my collar bone in half and couldnt play a contact sport for 9-11 weeks. Your still young stick with the team and just carry around a stick with the other hand. if i could id send u pics od my collar bone. every time i took a breath it shifted around causing massive amounts of pain. i got pain killers. Some hospitals have braces that go on your chest and back for the collar bone while its healing to help it heal faster/ i suggest u get one even if u do look like a dork.

Hello, Jason D. Hamburg.
...Sorry, I just wanted to say that.

you don't need it to heal... take a couple vikadin pills, wash it down with some beaver tranqualizer... you'll be good to go
i dont know about ss#, but theres some stuff u MIGHT not want people to seeThat's not his SSN; SSNs have 9 digits and don't start w/ "000", unless you're Montgomery Burns. If Jason didn't want his name to be shown, then yes, he should have edited that out. Any other vital info in that x-ray is already available in his TLF member profile.
Jason, you have a typical collarbone fracture, a complete break in the middle. Middle is better than breaking towards either end of the bone, b/c those usually take longer to heal. I wrote some relevant responses to someone else in your same situation in this old thread.

Try to avoid doing stupid stuff that is likely to aggravate your injury. Yes, that may include skipping lax season. However, missing one season of lax is better than doing something that would make you have to give up lax for the rest of your life.

I broke my collarbone along with both arms on a razor scooter, and the collarbone healed before my arms did (about 6 weeks for the arms). I'm also very lucky because I didn't feel an ounce of pain until the doctor was feeling my other bones to see if anything else broke. It turns out, my arms hurt so badly that I couldn't feel my broken collarbone. Luckily, I broke my collarbone in October, so I can plenty of time to heal before lax practice started up again. Just take it easy, and stop what you're doing if it's hurting your collarbone too much.

I've broken the same collar bone twice, with two years in between. It takes a good 6 weeks to heal. I had problems the second time I broke it though. Had to go to physical theropy for a while. I still can't effectively do bench press, and similar excercises.

Like everyone else here said, just around 6 weeks. I would say the maxium would be 8 weeks.
