Well, i was in crested butte for spring break, when i attempted a switch backside 540 (This is on a UnInc 158 with C-60's, and ThirtyTwo 305's). Long story short i overrotated the jump and got a major concussion. Which leads me to the point of the post. What is the biggest sports related injury (non-lacrosse)?

There might be a post like this already, but i have a huge headache and do not wanna search, sorry.

mine personally was when i hit a tree skiing last year. I was lucky enough to walk away with a huge bruise. Just a few weeks ago though someone hit a tree around the same area i was in , and didn't make it.

I was fencing and my opponent (best friend) had his blade break on a lunge. The blade continued forward, pierced my jacket and plastron, but was slowed enough so that it only pierced me between my ribs, but thankfully didn't go all the way through and into my lung.

mine was while training for super G ( a ski racing event) I was going 65 miles and hour when one of my skis popped of I skied for about 50 yards with one ski hit a rut and lost it, went through 3 layers of safety netting.

I don't have one, but i think the sickest one would be that basketball player that had his eye almost pop out.

I was biking, and my front wheel got caught on the coping of a spine...i went over the handle bars, and fell down about 7 feet, just to have a bike land on top of me.

Ive never really had another sport's injury (knock on wood) and never had a sports injury (again). So basically my worst injury was a broken femur, 3 surgeries and 2 pins later Im good as new.

I have to ask, were you wearing a helmet when you got the concussion H-Town?

I've broken my collar bone twice playing hockey and I've broken my big toe skimboarding.

As stated in my Broken Bones thread I broke my arm at camp. I snapped the humerous (whatever that is) and my arm twisted around and moved up, I needed to have 3 pins hold it in place.

All my injuries came this season, outside of one broken hand and lacrosse last year. First I strained a ligament in my knee on a tiny box at my local resort's park. Dang. 2 weeks, missed conditioning for it. Next I got a level 2 concussion snowboarding again. Dang. 1 week, helmet and mouthguard whenever I snowboard now. 2-3 weeks later and about 4 days ago, I'm shredding handrails at the rail gardens in Salt Lake City (can be seen on many, many snowboard movies, including my favorite, Afterlame. Scotty Arnold does a ledge there, and now we have video of two of my friends doing the same on on the opposite side. Pretty cool. I can be seen lying on my back in pain while they're attempting it.) with 3 of my bros. Bad idea, I don't have the skill for handrails yet. But anyway, I've tried a 16 stair handrail 4 times and am getting ready to do it right. I get on it every time, but really far down since I'm nervous and am popping very high before landing in a boardslide. So, I ride down our runway and attempt to not make a slight bonk on the rail with my nose, but instead of leaning forward and landing correctly, I kick out my back leg wrong and send me off balance, landing on the bottom two or three stairs on my back, knocking all the wind out of me for a solid minute and causing me to panic. One of my friends couldn't see what happened and had no idea how bad I'd gotten hurt and was being a wiener whilst waiting for me to get out of the way. I still don't think he gets it. If you look in the what makes you mad thread or whatever, this is the friend who knows exactly how to make me mad. He's already made fun of me for this. Haha, I'm laughing. Not. Anyway, so we have the crash on video, my two friends at the bottom thought I was pretty much dead and were surprised that A: I wasn't balling and B: I didn't swear. I remember after I could breathe (I worked so hard to breathe, you have no idea) I said, I really want to say the f-word right now. Really really bad. But I didn't, which was tough, but man, it's been sucking not playing lacrosse, not being able to sleep through the night and having a difficult time finding a comfortable position, but the fact that I've recovered fast enough to play our first regular season game against Alta tomorrow is a miracle. Absolutely. I didn't even hit my head on the stairs, but I'm still glad I wore my helmet. My parents would be double ticked if I had gotten another concussion. Also, I can't snowboard for the rest of lacrosse season, but hopefully Brighton will have a summer park and stuff. And my board is completely thrashed. Now it's my beater board, which is too bad because it's a dang sweet board, brand new this season. A Rome Solution. But that's okay. I've learned too much this year to call it a waste. Still, bruised lungs and an incredibly sore back aren't fun, but I never thought I'd heal this quickly, and it's been a huge blessing. Woo.

Nothing too bad. I've been extremely lucky in terms of bodily harm. The worst was probably when I was like 9 and skiing, I strained a ligament in my knee and had to be on crutches for a few weeks. (A funny story, I wasn't paying attention when the doctor told me what had happened, so for a few days I went around telling people that I had strained an artery. :chuckle: )

My friend lost his left testicle on a chain link fence jumping up for a baseball. There was blood everywhere. I had another friend slice his leg open and it was such a clean slice that you could look inside the wound and see blood moving through his veins.
