Hi, i hope someone can help me.

I now watched a lot videos and i always ask myself what the players do before shooting. How do they cradle before an overhead or underhand shot ?

I hope someone knows that and writes back...

That is a weird q... if the player has time to cradle he might (cutter) Bu if defenders are closing in on him... he will probley just cath and shoot (quickstick)...

I hope that helps???!!!

Its generally just a quick bottom hand cradle, to make sure the ball is in place in and intact in the pocket before they rip the shot.

if the ball isn't where you want it your shot will be terrible. If you can do a quick cradle so your comfortable.

ok, so itīs only a bottom hand cradle. just twist it one or two times? But what about the underhand shots? It seems they are making a little circle with the stick. How do I have to cradle before the underhand so that the ball stays in the head of my stick?

I couldn't agree more, I spend a lot of time as a youth coach trying to correct this bad habit.
As for shooting I don't really cradle before I shoot, I just snap my writs back as I wind up to get the ball where I want it. If I'm in close I'm trying to get the ball out of my stick as quickly as possible without sacrificing accuracy, and I feel cradling before I shoot slows me down.

i know spinning your stick is a horrible habit, but if i have plenty of time and i can do a big wind up, i usually spin my stick twice before i shoot to get it sitting in the right place.

there's nothing wrong with cradling before a shot to get the ball in the right place in the head, but whenever you spin with your top or bottom hand, it's actually easier to get the ball checked out, and it's also harder to get your hands in the right position to shoot..

but now i watched really a lot of games and i always see them cradling. For example the World Games Final - USA vs Canada. They do that every time and if this is a bad thing i now donīt know wether to do it or let it be. But if itīs ok to cradle before shooting how do i do it, with wich hand and what kind of cradling...

use your top hand,, don't spin, and just try to "work" the ball into the pocket, so you can get a consistent shot
