View Full Version : Sidewalls on mesh
Lately I have been stringing a good amount of sticks for people on my team and i have been experimenting wiht all kinds of sidewalls. What is everyones preferance and why, and what are the major differances, which are better for each kind of mesh. i personally use the E-Lacrosse double sidewall technique cause it gives me a really nice big pocket with no whip. BTW i did search
Here are the choices (I hope nobody minds me using pics of their sticks)

Oranges "GIANT" pocket
Locked down (the same technique orange uses for the second string of his double sidewalls but without the first string).

I sometimes like to use interlocking sidewalls (not pictured) at the top to get the mesh even tighter at the release point. Besides that I use regular.

I personally prefer double sidewall done by following oranges tut. It makes a nicely formed pocket an looks awesome with diff color sidewall string.
My second fav is traditional doubling diamonds to make a high pocket like in one of the tut's on here.

Ian, you and i both know that there is no need to double up sidewalls. I feel that double sidewalls are very overrated. I mean man, look at all the pro players sticks. Look at poopshoots stick, and hes by far our best shooter

i usually end up string my sidewalls either regular or interlocking. just depends on the mood im in when im strining and how i feel about the head after im done. i usually string sidewalls at least 3 times.. i don't know why, just a random habit...

i can say that i do my own way. it works for me as well as everyone that i have strung it for. it is basically a interlocking sidewall. but i usually string regular when i'm lazy or don't want to use a lot of sidewall for a stick

Well the two that I have ever used are double sidewall the orange way and interlocking, and I will say that interlocking has been more consistant in throwing, yet not as good of a pocket as double sidewalls.

ive been using Orange's double sidewall and they turn out pretty well. Also use regular for the lower diamond meshes.
^ i actually only use double the orange way and locked down for 7d or bigger
